They are killing each other because they believe they are fighting a jihad. They consider the innocent Muslims that die as a result of their terroristic actions to be martyers and that they will all go to the Paradise.

Unlogical, but this is the way they think. Hope this helped you.

To set the record straight, the Qur'an doesn't tell Muslims to go out and kill "infidels." These passages have been taken out of context. When Islam first came about, Muslims were persecuted for believing in God just as Christians were persecuted by the Romans.

God gave Muslims permission to defend themselves. Conclusively, the pagan worshippers in Arabia started a war with the Muslims. Islam is a religion of peace so what were the followers supposed to do? Just stand there and watch their loved ones be killed?

Muhammed then received a revelation that it was ok for the Muslims to defend themselves against the pagans (the "infidels" in this case). The media has hyped Islam up to be a very violent religion when in turn Jews, Christians, Hindus, etc. all kill each other everyday as well.

Violence is not allowed in any religion. Period.

Because, a long time ago (approximately 2000 years ago) there was only one sect of Muslim - and that was the sect that followed the profit Mohammed. However, there was a split in Muslim beliefs where one sect decided to follow another profit - and that profit's name escapes me. I also don't know who split, the Sunnis or the Shiites - but they split up. Now, there are two sects of the Muslim religion, both with different beliefs, and both hates the other.

The Sunnis are the Muslim sect to which Sadam Hussein belonged; the Shiites, are the minority in Iraq. However, the Shiites are the MAJORITY in Iran.

The issue in Iraq is one where the Sunnis and Shiites both want power over the governemtn. The majority/minority split isn't that vast in Iraq. The two different sects in Iraq have decided to wage war upon one another - a civil war, if you will. The Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq are NOT part of the insurgency. They are killing themselves (one another). The insurgency is made up of several other "terrorist" factions from outside Iraq who do not want to see the coalition forces succeed in overthrowing a Muslim dictator, and then making a democratic nation. If they stepped out of the picture, and the coalition forces withdrew, they'd get what they wanted anyway, because there would be a civil war in Iraq between the Sunnis and Shiites, and possibly the Kurds from the North of Iraq.

Anyway, I hope this answers your question. The issue in Iraq is one that goes back several thousand years. The U.S., and more broadly, the coalition, is not going to remedy this issue over night - like our Mr. Dubya would like to think.

Muslims killing Muslims doesn't have anything to do with what the Qur'aan says. In fact, the Qur'an states: “And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein; and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him” [al-Nisa’ 4:93]

Muslims are not allowed to kill other Muslims, nor are they allowed to kill people of ANY other religion, unless both parties agree to a war/battle in which there are no children/women involved, and each person who is fighting has agreed to fight in the cause. Killing people unjustly is not allowed in Islam, and Muslims are to deal with the rest of the world with justice and harmony.

Unfortunately, not everyone follows their religion, but it does not mean that the religion is to blame. And this fight between the Muslims is out of arrogance - each side wishes to be right, and if others don't agree, this is their way of resolving it (but this is by no means taught in Islam.)

Oh, you're definitely on to something. And I commend you for illustrating it.

The overwhelming vast majority of Iraqis killed during the past three years have been at the hands of Muslim "insurgents," and not by US military forces.

The anti-war Left cries rivers whenever a US soldier or air strike accidentally kills a civilian, but they go stone silent whenever Muslims set off suicide bombs that kill fellow Muslims deliberately.

The people they dignify with the name, "insurgent" have been steady killing other Muslims for a couple years now. The more they kill, the more these fringe element lefties can blame it on Bush. They, like the Mulims, like to shift blame. Liberals and the lib press are the best allies these killers have.

I think this shows how Islam is a discredited religion. It claims to be peaceful but the Q'uran tells its adherents to kill the infidels. And unless you agree with their specific brand of Islam, you are an infidel. And if you're not Muslim then you are supposed to be the target of all Muslims. So in Islam, Allah tells his followers to kill everyone who disagrees with their view. In Christianity, Jesus tells us to love those we hate and pray for those who persecute us. Which sounds like the more peaceful way?

For all of you answering this question by stating other Christians are killing Christians, yes that's true but not in the name of Christianity. And what makes you think that most of them are Christian? Is that because they live in a predominately Christian society. Look around in here you'll find more than a few non-Christians.

well, Christians killed 50 million Christians in WW2. what's the big deal?

oh! i think you are talking about "takfir". some Muslims consider other Muslims as non Muslims, and their false sources tell them to kill any Muslim who leave Islam. they are very similar to ALkhawarej, they were really funny, al khaware stooped a Muslim mutazili man in the desert, they asked him what is his religion, he said: kafer, non Muslim. then he remind them that there is something in quran tell Muslims to keep kuffar safe and let them hear god's words then take them to a safe place. and they did, if he told them that he is a non khawareji Muslim they would kill him.
