This is not the Christianity section, it is the religion and spirituality section.

I actually found this post on the front page not under Religion. They all go through there.
I have looked around in most of the areas though, and noticed that Christians seem to get the worst of it. The gay area gets messed with too, but not as badly.
I wonder if it is all Christians people hate or just the ones here. And too, why is not okay to stereotype unless it comes to Christians?
There are folks in all different kind of groups that are just flat a$$hole$. I like to keep an open mind. I share my beliefs if asked or the subject comes up. I don't like to offend people and I believe that we should all love our fellow humans as much as they will let us.
I have actually learned a lot about other beliefs poking around here. I find it interesting.

Because we're easy targets. That's the answer to your question. Most are easily flustered and defensive.
Don't judge people. What makes you better than them or anyone else? This is a forum for questions on spirituality, not a Christian chat room, so remember that.
I do believe the Bible is the Word of God and the truth, but you have to use a little discretion and realize that getting on here and shoving it in everyone's face makes you look like an idiot (no offense). The main reason a good deal of people bash Christians is because the predominant attitude is yours, which is extremely sad.

For me, I ridicule the beliefs and challenge people to realize that belief in a deity is no different than belief in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Gnomes, or Ogres. That being said, Christians won't let me live my life in peace and the occasional rude comment against a Christian is better than giving them the finger in my book.

I would bet it's because christians seem to be more intent on running everyone elses lives than your average person, except for the fanatical muslims.
I can't wait for a world without religion so that countries can actually get something done that's worthwhile. Religion has screwed up American politics so badly in the name of banning all that is "unchristian."
There are real issues to deal with in this country, yet we keep getting fleeced by crooked "christian" politicians who only divert peoples attention from the real issues this country must face to survive by throwing up a made up issue to rile the "christians" into voting for them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and more likely than not people will be referencing this answer in a negative way, but someones gotta tell the truth. It's USUALLY one of two reasons: 1. They blindly hate it, or 2. they, deep down inside, are actually curious as to what's going on, and make up for their "weakness", as they would label it, by making poor jokes or jabs at it.

Why are some Christians all about bashing people different from them? It's not the "Christian" section, it's the "Religion and Spirituality" section. By your own reasoning, you should not be discussing people of no faith. But, your question remains. Atheists and agnostics have the same right to be in this section and to be curious about other religions.

The same reason as some christians are all about bashing other belief systems.........
Oh and this is the religion & Spirituality section, not the christinsanity section. There isn't an exclusive christinsanity section as it isn't any more important than any of the other belief systems.

What I think of religion?
When you’re born, through genetics you have predisposition to feel more or less Cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is the feeling you get whenever you’re your ideas and opinions are in contrast with that of another person’s or when your actions don’t match your beliefs. If not dealt with it turns into physical headaches and stress. This dissonance functions by making us come together and communicate for survival. If you look around you’ll see that like attracts like. People are attracted to other people with similar ideas because it is reaffirming and makes us feel good by reducing that dissonance. It makes us feel normal. You’re more likely to feel you are correct when other people agree. People will usually use the easiest method to reduce dissonance. Some people, join clubs, teams, or go to church with other people who have similar beliefs. Some people exercise and others use drugs like Tylenol or alcohol. A sense of normlessness is called anomie and can lead to depression and even suicide. In those like groups the ideas polarize and become more extreme while their members become more confident in their conclusions. Middle Eastern religious extremists use religion to enable them to become suicide bombers. If you look at the histories of religion you see a pattern. Each religion helps their society deal with their unique life situation for better or worse. The Egyptians had their sun god ect. Therefore, trying to change someone’s religion can make them less adapt to the issues they face in their life. Unfortunately the function of religion is not to show us the truth but to relieve the dissonance by giving us a set of beliefs that tell us what is normal. Christians who try to make decisions for other people often get the underlying science wrong and their actions hurt people when they intended to help.

mainstream christianity is evil. Tough problem, most practicioners are themselves hoodwinked victims and don't know any better.
The best defense is good knowledge of thefacts, and a willingness
to accept both the good and the bad that truth has to offer regarding
christianity. If restored to what Yeshua intended, christianity would be a good thing.
