THEY won't look very hard for you, since a simple DUI is a misdemeanor that can't pursue you across state lines.
But if you posted bail and skipped out, the agency who posted bond will be looking for you with SKIP tracers...AKA bounty hunters.
You might want to delete this message, as there might be a way for them to locate you from your email....

The police won't be looking for you. The warrant is a bench warrant. They'll only pick you up if by chance somebody does a thorough warrant search. Even being stopped or questioned by a cop, it may not show up. The bail bondsman did not receive enough money on a $20,000.00 bond to be worth sending a bounty hunter after you. No self respecting bounty hunter would work for those kind of peanuts. The two problems you're looking at are, You may be driving illegally. When you didn't show up for court the judge may have revoked your license. the other is, until this is taken care of or statute of limitations runs out, Don't go back into the state where this happened. As far as I know, bench warrants don't cross state lines but it will be active in that state. It would be best if you could find a way to work it out. It may come back to bite you in the butt at the most inopportune time.

So tell me, what state are you in now? Seriously, it will be better for you to turn yourself in. I know if I were your bondsman I would be looking for you.
If the bondsman sends recovery agents after you it will only cost you more money. It will also mean that court will charge you as a Fugitive from Justice if you are found in a different state from where the charge is.
At this point you also have charges for Failure to Appear. It will end up in a new bond which will be considerably higher than the first $20,000 if you are granted a bail at all.
Turn yourself in, it will improve you chances all the way around not to mention save you a bundle of money. Good luck.

better hope you never get stopped for anything, the police would run a check on you and see that you have the warrant and arrest you on the spot. You say you are a law abiding citizen, yet you are breaking the law everyday becuase you are a fugitive from justice. If I was the bail bondsman and I lost $20,000 because of you I would sure be looing for you. That's right, whoever wrote your bail also lost when you decided to run, so think that you have changed all you want without thinking that you took $20,000 from someone. Better hope they don't send the dog after you.

Your drivers license has been revoked, your car insurance is not valid and company won't pay. You committed a crime if you applied for a renewal or change of address license and did not mention the arrest in the dui state. Everything will get more and more complicated in your life the longer you wait to straighten it out. Find a lawyer in the county where you were arrested have him negotiate your surrender and a plea bargain. 1st offense you have a chance of getting your license back after a year and perhaps a license to drive to and from work. Will cost some bucks but will keep you out of jail. THIS WILL NOT GO AWAY ON ITS OWN.

Right now in NCIC there is a warrant for you, from the jurisdiction where you jumped bond. If your name is run, or your license plate during a traffic stop, the warrant WILL come back. If you are still in the state where the warrant was issued, then you will be arrested. If you are out of state, it depends on if the warrant was entered with "NOEX" or no extradition. But, if it was a 20,000 dollar DUI bond..... chances are they will want extradition. But, rest assured, your arrest warrant is out there, and when your name, SSN, VIN, or license plate is run, it will come up. Save yourself the hassle, turn yourself in.

You have a high bond, they will pursue you. The best thing to do is turn yourself in, your name is in the system, and they will get you eventually. You cant renew your driver's licence, pay state taxes, fly, you have to watch yourself when you drive, dont get pulled over, watchout for mail giving away your location. You cant apply for a job that requires a record check. If someone knows you are wanted down there all they have to do is call the police, the police will teletype your info and your district will respond, the local police will pick you up and extridite you (costing you upwards of $5,000 in extradition fees). They will go easier on you if you turn yourself in, rather than getting picked up.

That is how bounty hunters get paid!!!!!!!! Sorry,if you turn yourself in, it will go better for you than if they have to catch you.Right now,you are a flight risk/fugitive.Would you look for a $20,000 owed to you??? Exactly!!! Don't make excuses. Get it over with on a positive note and set an example for your kids and others in similar circumstances.Peace.

Best do the right thing before things get worse. Nuthing sucks more than the po-po's showing up during dinner and arresting you in your own house.
