An Atheist tries to break down a Christian's beliefs. What do they care? If there really is no God, does it harm anyone? I've been attacked many times for being a Christian, but I am very accepting and I have many friends who are Atheist, and I do not attack their beliefs. I firmly believe that everyone should have their own belief and their own stance.

Hey people, can you not read? I said that I accept people in my life that do not believe what I do, and I don't try to make them believe what I believe. I would just appreciate the same respect. When someone does not believe what I believe, I try to stay away from the subject, so not to offend them.

they just probly want you not to follow Jesus but to follow what they believe. I as well am a Christian and i get attacked as well but instead i fight back if they're gonna attack. if not then i dont bother to attack at them. I agree wit you on lettin everyone believe what they want cause its their life. Its not their job to change our lives and make us believe in what they believe in.

I think you're making a pretty strong generalization here. Not all non-believers "attack" Christians. I'm a non-believer, and I think that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. If someone wants to believe in God, they have every right to and I'm not going to tell them otherwise. But don't forget, there are Christians out there who attack non-believers and people of other religions besides Christianity. I'm not saying all Christians are like that, just some of them. You say non-believers attack you for your beliefs, but I have also been attacked by Christians for mine. The door swings both ways.

Not every one is like that, you are talking about a select few of atheist extremist. It is the same way in every belief system. Christianity is by far the worse, " how many people have died because they refused to accept Jesus ??? " , but in a whole most Cristian's don't follow this action.

However some belief systems support being extremist such as Nazi skinheads, and PETA .

And some Christians try to break down Atheists because of their lack of belief. It's a circular argument, both sides play this game and there won't be any stopping it.

Usually, it is the other way around. I am an atheist and I get attacked and made fun of for my lack of belief.

>>>Why is it that people who lack something to believe in always seem to attack those who have something?<<<

I don't think all atheists are like this, but you're right in that many are.

They do it because they need to feel better about themselves.

They obviously feel at least somewhat insecure in their (non)beliefs, so they need to validate them and build them up somehow.

And what better way to do that, than to attack the opposite thing -- religious faith?

Sometimes its not an attack on you, but that part of your believe that causes some people who share your believe to tell atheists they are going to hell.

Probably the same reason Christians try to tell Atheists they are wrong, kind of like what you just did.

I think it works both ways. Believers jump on nonbelievers sometimes. And sometimes believers attack other believers whose beliefs are not the same as theirs.

That's the way satan and his demons work. They know that they don't have anything so they attack the ones that do hoping to bring us down. If They can bring us down then we won't witness for Christ and this will make their jobs a whole lot easier

It seems they are a bit better than the theists who openly try and convert (by command from god) and condemn those who do not to eternal suffering in hell.

Now THAT is rude.
