Well, this may sound silly, but I've always wondered why people say turkey bacon and bacon is pork, but there is no such thing as turkey pork. So, why is there turkey bacon?

turkey bacon is referring to thin slices of turkey (like bacon looks like!) you wouldn't say turkey pork, because well, a piece of turkey is a piece of turkey.

Same goes with turkey burgers, sausage, and anything else you can think of that has turkey in front of it.

Because turkey is not pork. Pork is meat thay comes from a pig, turkey does not come from a pig. Bacon describes the way the meat is cut or processed, it does not have to be made from a pig. The same goes for burgers, sausage, and hotdogs. These Items can be mad out of just about any type of meat.

The turkey is cut into slices like Pork's bacon. Turkey bacon isn't really pork its just type of bacon for those who don't eat pork. Get it?

Bacon is a cut of meat. Pork is a type of meat coming from a pig.

there is turkey ham... there are also similar products made from soy protein.
