I have tried being the one to make the first move on giving affection it does not help. What can I do to make him enjoy wanting to caress me.

You can't "make" him. If he doesn't feel it.... it isn't real and it doesn't count. You can try telling him what you are feeling and letting him know what you want. Communication is very important in healthy relationships. He may try. He may not be able to. Thats when you have to decide if you can accept him the way he is and be happy or if you need to move on to someone more attuned to you.

Easy answer is find another boyfriend. Easier said than done right? I know it's not easy if you're really close with this guy but with anyone you ever meet in your life when find things that annoy or upset you about them you have to ask yourself " Can I live with this for the rest of my life?" If the answer is NO then it's time to move along. You can't expect anyone to change to fit with you, the only person you can change is you. I think this is probably going to be advise you're not going to want to hear, but believe me I've been there, I came through it and found the one that already fit when Stopped trying to make everyone else. Good Luck!

You don't!!!
I was in the same boat for 7 years with this one guy. Never showed any affection at all. I would try talking to him about it at least once a week........ended it after 7 years! I am much better off!!! Found a great man who loves to cuddle at night, rubs my feet, back.....brings me coffee....But it is mutual. We are getting married in December.

Seriously, if he doesn't do these things now, he NEVER will!!!
P.S. We have been together for 3 years and he is as affectionate now as he was then....Get rid of this jerk... It will be hard, but you will get over him. I am living proof.

The expectations you have for your relationship will only cause you greater disappointments. Don't expect him to be affectionate and you won't be disappointed when he's not. You can't change a guy, trust me, you're just wasting your time.

some guys are not affectionate. if he doesn't already do it, chances are you're not going to change him. Live with it or move on.

if he doesn't act affectionate to you (without going over the top) than maybe he's not worth your time..
