Sounds like you got some tainted ones if you've never had this happen to you before with avocados. Sometimes the mexican grown can have the waste water still on the outer skin. Always rinse fruit and vegetables.

Just to be safe see a doctor if you have nausea, diarreah, or burning tongue continues.

I can only think of three things.

1. You have developed an allergy to avocado. In which case, I really feel for you, avocados are great.

2. There is some chemical on or in the avocado that is causing the burning. Perhaps pesticides from the outside were spread through the avocado when it was cut.

3. Some other condition, such as a medication you are taking or an illness that you have, is sensitizing you to some component of the avocado.

easily no person is allergic to avocados. I even have comparable burning sensation, except i purchase avocados from organic and organic farmer. insecticides get sprayed onto merely approximately all avocados and then it absorbs into it because it grows. you will get comparable burning sensation after eating bananas or apples too.

Because you might be allergic to it.
Or because its a type of vegetable that has acid and if you keep it on your tongue for too long burns you.

Plain avacado can have a bad tase- what I do is mix it with lemon juice and salt, and it makes it a yummy dish to dip bread or chips in.

You may have a latex allergy - yes, there's natural latex in avocado.

Check with your doctor to be sure.
