There is a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed and related by Muslim [114] that women will constitute the majority of people in hell. However, there is another prophetical statement, which is also related by Muslim [3006] that every man in the heaven will have two wives from people he'd loved in his life.
Doing some math, I would say that, based on the latter statement, women will constitute at least two thirds in heaven. Giving that the number of men and women has been always equal (or almost equal), I would say that women will constitute only ONE THIRD in hell (which is not majority).
Does anyone have an answer for this contradiction?

'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
Allah's Messenger said: Do not attribute lies to me, for anyone who attributes lies to me will be doomed to Hell-Fire.

math will lead you nowhere ,because you say that your calculations were based on the fact that the number of men and women are equal (or almost equal) ,and this is not true ,as a matter of fact the number of women is increasing over the number of men ,and this is leading to a ratio imbalance between them, and who knows the actual ratio anyway .
don't trouble your brain because ,as not being a Muslim you can't sometimes see the whole picture the way Muslims see it ,and so believe in it.
and let me tell you something ,not every man in heaven had loved any one , what about the little boys who died at the age of 1,2,3,..........13 ? I mean they were too young to love any one?and what about men who never loved any woman ?
why do you assume that every man in heaven had loved any woman from the first place ?
I've told you that math will lead you nowhere .

Could you recheck the hadith? What I have for Muslim, hadith 3006 is simply:
Book 007, Number 3006: Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr and 'Umar observed halt at al-Abtah.
As for Muslim, 114, I have:
Book 001, Number 0114: 'Uqba b. Mukarram al-'Ami reported that he heard 'Ala' b. 'Abdur-Rahman narrating this hadith with this chain of transmitters and he said: Three are the signs of a hypocrite, even if he observed fast and prayed and asserted that he was a Muslim.
Could you provide a source of some sort? Thank you.

It's not a contradiction. Wives from BELIEVER women he liked. And the hadiths are prone to corruption, unlike The Holy Qur'an, so "Majority" hadith isn't necessarily a prophet's saying.

There are some hadith that are not true and are just made up by people attributed to the prophet.
Because of that, one of the hadith says that if one of the hadith contradicts the Qur'an or does not make sense at all, just throw it out.

Men are usually worse than women. They think they are better at everything and more important, so to keep up their spirits they had to be told they would rule in heaven. Truth is more women will most likely make it, but that will be for the men to discover once (if) they make it.

also keep in mind that no ones knows what the ratio of men to women will be towards the end of time.how manys war will have happened and who will be left.
and its more in keeping that one of the saying has been reported wrongly.
also the purpose of life is to please God,not to think about how many wife's we'll be given.
the contradiction is in your own heart.
