Call a local tack shop. They can help you look for the brand name on the saddle and can probably help you determine a closer age to it. They can also give you an estimate on it or they can put in you contact with someone who can.

Go to a few horse shows and ask vendors if they know of any collectors or clubs that can help you locate Period Type collectors. You know the ones that dress up in the old costumes, well they dress thier horses up, too!

Ask around with friends and family, to get a reliable jeweler or appraiser, and get an honest price, and maybe get help from them to sell it online (Amazon.com, eBay.com, or advertise in the paper) Should be worth a good amount.

1) Get it appraised.

2) put it for sale on ebay

Either way will tell you the fair market value
