Yes, tolerance is a form of charity. Though I think many people confuse it with accepting something. I can tolerate a theif to be around me, but that doesn't mean I agree with what he does.

Have to be careful with some of these words. Some people don't know how to use dictionaries.

No, because you are not giving anything. Tolerance is your blessing not the other end of the stick. It's works exactly like forgivness. It's for you, a gift for yourself. You are blessing your life by forgiving and letting go of the negative emotion attached to it. Tolerance is an active forgiveness while the transgression proceeds you are side-stepping the negative emotions, allowing yourself to think clearly and creativily.
Zen Buddists say, "You are taking the higher karmic road." In fact, be greatful for the opportunity to forgive and practice tolerance. Reward yourself for using will power.

It may be percieved as giving by others, so let them practice their own conscience, and stick to your guns.

What do you mean "you forgive nothing." As a Christian I am called to forgive just as God has forgiven me. Doesn't mean I have to like the situation or even the person. But forgive I must or I will be stuck in a prison of my own making - resentment and hatred - and it will tear me apart by pulling me away from the Lord.

Yes, forgiving is a form of a charity.
But what's about, when you forgive once, twice,... and the same people keep hurting, will you find enough courage to forgive again and again.
It is easy to say yes, but in the daily life, quiet tough.

tolerance is a form of adapting to the world. to realize that i am not the center of the universe, that other people have thoughts and feelings that should be respected. except for @ssholes. oh man do i hate @ssholes.

although some dude did say that men who conform to the world are reasonable, and those who don't are unreasonable; so everything that's pushed our civilization forward has been done by unreasonable men.

so therein lies the dilemma.

Christians should forgive because its what God has instructed them to do.

Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
