My husband is illiterate. Life is very hard some times for him. He is very intelligent, but has a learning disorder. There are a lot of illiterate people out there and you would never know it. It is well hidden, and very sad that our school systems do no better than this.

It would be very difficult. Reading is the tool for nearly all learning. I also love to read for fun. If I couldn't read then I could not self-educate or enjoy it as a hobby. Written communication is also imperative in this day and age.

For one everyone could take advantage of me, and I would probably not be so social in fear that someone could notice. Maybe I would make my kid my teacher.

I dunno. Apparently, you can still be president, so maybe I'd pursue politics.
