All dogs shed.....expect maybe for a Mexican Hairless or an American Hairless Terrier.

Shedding is a natural loss of hair in dogs that allows the new coat to come in. All dogs shed; some more then others. There is no such thing as a non-shedding dog however shedding varies from breed to breed.

Poodles, Chinese Crested (At least I don't think they shed), I also believe that those cute little white Bichon Frise don't shed. I've been told that those new designer cross breed dogs that are mixed with poodles are supposed to shed little to none too (ex.: yorkiepoo, peek-a-poo, Schnoodle). Some different forms of terriers also shed little to none. But keep in mind, that if you get a poodle, since they don't shed, you have to keep up with grooming and clipping the fur.

It's true, all dogs shed (with a few ugly exceptions), but some shed significantly less than others. Your best bet is to get a dog with shorter hair. I have a golden retriever and we have to vaccuum at least once a week. My friends have a beagle/doberman mix and she barely sheds at all.

Schnauzers don't shed noticably.

My parents have had many of them over the years and they are amazingly light-shedding dogs.

any dog bred that is considered 'short haired' would be a decent choice. Also, groomers can give 'summer cuts' which are basically like a buzz cut for your dog. It looks kinda funny til you get used to it, but it elimates shedding

Poodles, some Schnauzers, some Terriers. Poodles are the best known non-shedders out there. Be careful of the breeder and don't get one from a puppy mill or pet store.

Poodles. We had a poodle mix and that was the only dog that didn't shed.
