I am a atheist.
Humor them.
Change the subject.
I use to tell them, I will I be sitting in hell right next to the pope, or some such TV envangelist.
The best you can hope for, some day they will accept you for your views.
You done your homework.
In my opinion.
The reason we are atheist is because we have given religion more thought than these so called christian who have no mental capacity in understanding logic and reason.

If he/she keeps telling you this to the point of annoyance, then you have got to tell your friend to stop. Tell your friend exactly why you are annoyed. If he/she values your friendship, then the nagging will have to stop. If it continues, then he/she is not much of a friend.

Think of it this way. If your friend was constantly putting down other races and telling offensive jokes, and it bothered you, would you simply shut about only because he/she is a friend. Or, would you express your feelings about your friend's intolerance?

Your friend may truly care about your soul's eteral well being, but, once she has made his/her feelings known, either act like a friend with understaning and tolerance, or leave you alone and associate with like minded people.

Speak up!

There is a town in Michigan called Hell---go there a few days--tell friend been there done that. Plus--if the friend truly believes in christianity--then they would know--god is the judge of that--so just tell them-if it turns out there is one--let god decide--she/he should not pass judgement on you if they are a true believer.

Find some sin in his life (and you will find plenty) and tell him you will be waiting for him there. Only perfect people go to heaven and nobody's perfect. All have sinned and come short of the glory. There is none righteous, no not one, not even your christian friend. There a part in the book of Micah that says people who have other gods than jehovah will also go to heaven.

Ask her if she really thinks trying to scare you by telling you that your going to hell is really going to make you believe in God. If she is a Christian than she should be Christ like, and simply lead by example. Not trying to scare people into her religion by telling them they are going to hell.

You ask them to stop telling you that and if your friend does not, then they aren't much of a friend. We're supposed to show Christian agape love, not promote division and hate.
Your friend is probably meaning only the best, but if (s)he can't see that (s)he is pushing you away, then perhaps it's time to end the friendship.
I'm sorry this has been how you are treated.

Your not going to be able to have Christian friends. Find friends that believe the way you do.

Well, if you are as annoying about being an Atheist in real life as you are on here, no wonder. Id be suprised if you have any friends anyway, all things considered (fat, ugly and a bad personality is not a good mix)

Your association with synthetic religions (christianity, judaism, pagan etc) is irrelevent to what takes position for your soul once you die. An atheist's soul won't be able to be destroyed at the same time as they die, a minimum of no longer untill they're made optimistic of God's existance. Sin is deliberately straying adverse to God's will. in case you do not trust in God, you won't be able to insurrection adverse to him, in uncomplicated phrases persons. i trust that once you die, except your soul is only too tainted and corrupt that it really is unable to progression in the afterlife (that can be a horridly twisted individual, the likes of which i have by no skill in my opinion met), you'd be confronted with the reality of God's existance. truth will be made favourite to you, and also you would understand it for optimistic. At that factor you would accept a call to even if you should proceed on your existance - it is a experience to be like and on the brink of the daddy - or you'll deny God's will and be destroyed (no longer hell, only non existance.) All of that's irrelevent to you if you're a real atheist. the very undeniable actuality that you're wondering about it makes me imagine you're extra of an agnostic than atheist. As to the snobbs who shun you for your disbelief: they don't look to be real christians, as in they do no longer keep on with the classes of Christ. those anybody is terrified of the twisted misinterpretations of the bible that were slammed into their head. They concern hell and act in accordance to that concern. at the same time as a "christian" acts like this in route of you, only say, "what would jesus do?". Jesus taught of a loving Father determine, no longer an indignant, vengeful torturer of souls. The latter description implies God having human attributes that are a results of straying from godliness. it is a logical impossibility. God being ungodly? lol. yet, heavily, if those people truly won't be able to settle for you, which skill they don't look to be the fashion of acquaintances you need to target to go such as. i'm no longer a christian, yet i do examine the bible, and attempt to stay with Jesus' social gathering. i lately were given a buddy of mine to open his innovations and he all started reading the bible. This turned right into a nasty concept. He horridly misinterpreted the bible, and all started hating people, justifying his hatred in God's call. i might want to no longer stand for this, and we no longer communicate to eachother. i'm able to't go such as someone who justifies hatred through using God's call.

My daughter would recommend "chilling." Your friend is just expressing her (mistaken) fears for you and there's not much harm in that - after all, your are NOT going to hell (Unless of course you plan to move into certain areas of Philadelphia.)

Oh, and if you can, avoid anyone who sounds like "bmwdriver11." How does a question like yours merit such a barrage of gratuitous abuse?
