Some libraries allow you to check out paintings to use for a few weeks at a time.

You can also look for reproductions of paintings or of POSTERS,
at local art or photo shops. Some drugstores or other variety stores sell posters of popular performers.

making your own art is easy and inexpensive. Just buy any size canvas you need to fit the wall you want it on and let your creativity go. Abstracts are a great way to add color to a room and that way you can use the colors you want in your paintings without trying to find paintings to match your decor.

Are you looking for actual paintings? or are you looking for artwork to display on your walls? If your looking for art or framed pictures, try Gordmans, Kirklands, or Hobby Lobby (the first two are better). You can get great pieces for fractional price at these places.

I absolutely love going to flea markets and garage sales. Sometimes people have excellent paintings and pieces of art, and they'll sell them dirt cheap... because well, they want to get rid of them. I picked up alot of my decor from flea markets... or, if you find something that you absolutely love but is out of your budget, just try to recreate it. It doesn't have to look fabulous. Go to a local craft/art store, pick up a canvas, and go Jackson Pollock on it. You'll have something cheap, original and yours to brag about. :)
