Sure, anytime we become complacent, assume the rest of the world thinks like us (your typical liberal) and spend less on the defense of our country we set ourselves up for another suprise attack.
There are probably hundreds of potential places right now, but none SO vulnerable that we'll lose the majority of our naval fleet like in 1941. Even then we DIDN'T lose any carriers and were able to engage the enemy within a year.
The Japaneses screwed up and decided NOT to send a THIRD wave of bombers/fighters and didn't completely cripple our naval capacity, especially our carriers.
Air power is so much more advanced now that even though we could be suprised we would still have the capability to respond quickly and decisively to any attack on our navy.
That's why our enemies should remember Adm. Yamamoto famous quote after the attack, " I fear all we have done is wake a sleeping giant and given him great resolve."

If you're saying Pearl Harbor specifically, not likely if you're talking a military type of attack. We have too much technology to not detect something of that sort.
I'm assuming a Terrorist attack would be possible.
If you're talking about a Pearl harbor TYPE of attack (e.g. surprise attack on our soil). Still not likely-- again, surprise military attack not at all likely to happen in this day and age (except of course if a military sub comes in undetected and launched a bunch of missiles)
Terrorist attack-- certainly can happen. No matter how much has been done to safeguard us, it is still way too easy to do something really bad. In fact, I'm surprised (grateful to God) that that one has NOT happened. The US IS still pretty open and there are many soft targets a determined bad-guy could go after.
You conservatives are getting quite tiresome with your "liberals would allow an attack" rthetoric. Let's not forget, 9/11 happened on W's watch even when he was warned by HIS OWN people (e.g. condi). So quit already.

Yes it could happen again. That is why we need to show the world the consequences of what will happen to them if they try it. It's the consequences that will deter it. If a nation knows that it can strike but will be totally defeated they will not want to strike. If I know that hitting the big guy in the corner will result in getting my butt kicked I am less likely to hit him, but if I know that hitting him will have no consequences I may hit him, then someones may hit him and then someone else until he is destroyed, or hits back. That is what 9/11 did, we them hit us and we walked away, and continued to do this, bombings of our embassy, first trade center bombing, the attack on the USS cole, then when 9/11 happened we decided we had enough, and hit back. It's something that we should have done years ago.

Well, there was that little thing on 9/11 it killed as many as Pearl Harbor did. I doubt that a large fleet of ships could do something like that but a small group of terrorist have proven that we are still vulnerable.

Anything's possible, why not another attack on Pearl Harbor? If it WERE to happen though, I doubt it'd be Japan attacking again! I think they learned their lesson last time!

Yeah, it's called 911, and yes, just because a country is the strongest in the world does not automatically grant it protection from any attack, especially while its on the decline.

Yes. If Iran is nuclear and they decide to. They could launch a nuclear attack on our military in Afghanistan and Iraq. Severly damaging our front lines in the global war against radical Islam.
