American History X. Stupid people piss me off. People do change, even when the odds are against it. Stupid people are the ones perpetuating the violence. If everyone took the time to become educated and learn to understand the differences in each other, the world would be a better place.
I appreciate the question. It show a maturity that many do not have.

This isn't mocking, but I really don't get it.... So, like, you watch "Schindler's List" and your only reaction is, "I wonder why God would let such a thing happen?"
See, since we can't really influence the actions of God, I think it's a lot more powerful to think about "Why would humans do such a thing?"
I can't think of a movie at the moment, but I can tell you that the book "The Time Traveller's Wife" made me cry unashamedly for a week. I was thinking about all the ways in which we know and cannot know the ones we love--how clearly I can picture my husband as a child or an old man, though I've only known him for seven years--and the way their separation from us can come in so many ways, but always comes. The very, very human ache of that.
Maybe you could add a bit more about what you mean with this question? Because I would think that by limiting your emotions and intellect only to a religious realm, you're restricting your worldview severely. I think you have to see everything to see the truth. Of course, you already think you know what the truth is... so then what's the point of art (like movies) at all?

Being an atheist doesn't mean you don't believe in emotion. I mean do you expect me to say that I was contemplating the various hormones and chemicals being released to make me feel whatever emotion I was feeling? I wasn't. Assuming you're a theist of some sort, do you honestly think about how and why "god put the emotion into you" everytime you have one? Constantly picking apart every little detail of life ruins it's enjoyment. I know why a sunset turns the sky pretty colors, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the pretty colors. Enjoying life is what I'm all about as an atheist.

Well, it is a stupid question mate. Do you think of God everytime a powerful emotion overcomes you?
The film 1984 filled me with the worse sense of dread and depression imaginable. I've read the book and felt the same but just seeing it kinda made it that bit closer to happening..whats this got to do with Atheism though? God rarely has a part in emotions does he?

Well, I watched "Peggy Sue Got Married" last night, got pretty weepy at the end.
"Angela's Ashes" sucked my will to live.
Not a movie yet, but I cried my eyes out when Dumbledore died.
