An Iraqi official said the Marines are losing their touch....
Hmm thats after the entire Iraqi military collapsed in 14 days when faced by the Marines and other allied troops.
To be honest I am always sceptical about reports which say "an official" or " a spokesperson".
If they don't have a name they cannot be traced and the story not validated, so its probably bull.

The Marines are not loosing their touch, they are not being allowed the use their touch. Once our politicians decide to unleash the dogs of war, the insurgency will be elimintated in a matter of days. You cannot fight a war being politcally correct. Get rid of the media and unleash the dogs of war. These men are warriors and once they are allowed to fight the war the are trained to fight, things will change. The problem is cowards like you will complain about it, yet glorify the savages that are behind the insurgancy. You have not seen the true Power of the United States, when you do you will have nightmares.

We'll, i wouldnt call the States weak, they spend as much on military units and technology as many countries do on their entire social structure..however, tis a historical precedent. British forces have had yeaers of experience with peacekeeping from Ireland, Kosovo and the Baltic. American forces have rarely been called upon to peacekeep, often seeing themselves s an aggressive army, not police. The marines just cant cope with these conditions

You mean that we fight an illegal war? When the UN voted against our invasion (China, Russia, Germany and France), and we found weapons sold to Iraq against a UN Mandate, sold by China, Russia, Germany and France. I wonder why they didn't want us to invade!!!
Or do you mean the WMDs?
Iraq's arsenal of weapons of mass destruction was not captured by US forces who heroically brought down Saddam Hussein's regime three years ago this week. It vanished before they arrived.
Israeli intelligence reported before the US-led invasion that starting in late summer 2002 Saddam's WMD arsenal was shipped by truck convoy to Syria. Recently, documents seized from Iraq after the fall of the regime were released to the public. Those documents revealed that under the direct command of former Russian prime minister and KGB boss Yevgeny Primakov, Russian Spetnaz forces oversaw the transfer of Iraq's WMD to Syria ahead of the US-led invasion. These reports have been corroborated by Saddam's Air Vice Marshall General Georges Sada.
So rather than being destroyed or secured, Saddam's WMD arsenal was simply moved from one rogue regime with intimate ties to terror organizations to another rogue regime with intimate ties to terror organizations.
Of course, American Media will NOT report this, it will prove Bush right, and then they would look stupid.
Michael Moore, thanks:

When News Lies
WHEN NEWS LIES
Media Complicity and The Iraq War
By Danny Schechter, The News Dissector
A new book from Danny Schechter offers an up to date indictment of the role media played in promoting and misreporting the war on Iraq. It is an analysis of how and why the media got it wrong that pinpoints the failures of journalism and the collusion of media companies with the Bush Administration. The author of EMBEDDED: Weapons of Mass Deception (Prometheus 2003), an account of the TV coverage of the US invasion, returns with a more comprehensive, updated and insider look at the media complicity that Schechter argues "made the war possible."
"Most of the anti-war movement focused on the crimes of the Bush Administration ignoring the mainstream media, its far more effective accomplice," says former network producer Danny Schechter (ABC, CNN). "The government orchestrated the war while the media marketed it. You couldn't have one without the other."
WHEN NEWS LIES includes the feature -length DVD of the prize-winning film WMD (Weapons of Mass Deception). The book will also include the complete script as well as a discussion of the challenges of exposing media with media with a documentary. It chronicles the media war fought alongside the military campaign and the struggle to stand up for truth.

The drive by media will make you think so. Perhaps rather than referring to journalists that have never been there for your answers, you should ask a soldier.
I have never been there so I can't give an honest answer, but I highly doubt that our Marines would lose to a bunch of terrorists.

This country was never as powerful as it was on Sept. 12, 2001. We were united as one people. Don't be foolish. That's why we havent been attacked yet again. United We Stand Divided We Fall. Bring it on.

And who was the Iraqi official? What was their motivation? Anonymous sources are generally not credible and believable.
Perhaps you should get a clue?

Kind of a loaded question isn't it? You presume the US to be weak before you even ask. Go take your anti American crap to the news message boards, they'll love your rhetoric over there.
