Just a hypothetical question, I don't have kids myself. God asked Abraham to do it and Abraham obeyed. But God spared Abraham's kid (Isaac) just before Abraham was ready to kill.

The short answer is NO. This is a good question however which points to the conflicting nature of the Old Testament. Remember God asking Abraham to kill his first born Isaac? Abraham in his zealousness to serve God offered his Son as a sacrifice, but an Angel stayed his hand at the last moment. Personally I think this was way messed up. One should never consider doing that which is gravely immoral, even if it is in the name of what one thinks is obedience. The Old Testament however is full of interesting stuff. I can't remember the specifics, somebody will have to help me out with this one, but I do remember God asking the Israelites to do a certain thing and they refused saying it was evil. God in this instant commended them revealing it was all just a test. The old, “Just testing” trick huh? In any case if one could glean a spiritual lesson from this they would listen to their spiritual hearts and not be so legalist in their modus operandi. I believe there is a God, a good God, who wants us to be grown up enough to think for ourselves. "Stop Judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment." John 7:24

I'd probably kick God in the nuts. My child is my God and my reason for living. Without him, I would have nothing to live for. If it was somehow forced upon me, I would kill us both.

Of course this would never happen, and you know why. :P

Anyone who said yes is a sadistic idiot who needs some serious psychological help.
Charles Manson also had his followers kill people....

God wouldn't do that as in the instant with Isaac it was for sacrificial offerings. Seeing as my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has been the ultimate sacrificial offering, the true God would not ask me to kill my children. However, if I was certain that God had spoken to me and told me to kill my children, I would have no choice but to obey Him. But like I said, there is no need for sacrificial offerings anymore, so He would never ask that of me.

God will not tell me to kill my children. God ask this of Abraham to test him. He would not have ever let him do it.

If i know it was truly God, then Yes. When God Told Abraham to do so, it was a test, because he already knew his heart. God won't give give you something as precious as a child then take it away from you. The Bible says, he won't give you more than you can bare. The thing is, it is easy to forget God loves you, the closer you are to him, the easier your burdens will be and you can bare anything.

Great question!
No I would NEVER kill my son. But alot of people think they hear "God" tell them to kill their kids or other people. Did they really hear God and are they sitting with the angels now like Abraham? We don't know, but I'd rather burn in hell then harm my child.

Pardon my french, but...Hell, no! Sorry, I'd fire God before I'd kill my own child, and any God that would ask me to do that...I think He might have some issues of His own, and why would I worship someone that promoted that kind of sick violence???

PS I in no way believe in 97.6% of the Old Testament.

NOPE, SORRY, NO WAY WOULD I DO THAT. I reckon I'm just not very obedient to God. I would never lay a hand on either of my children to harm them.
