I am a witch, my powers come from many different sources. First there is my goddess given energies, those that I am born with. Then there is the natural energies of the earth. The energies of earth, air, fire and water. Depending on the working we first ask for the presence of the goddess to bless our work, then we call upon and draw the needed energy for the working.

For example, yesterday we had our summer solstice celebration. For our energy raising we made pictures of a forest on biodegradable paper and put it into water. The purpose of this was to give energy back to a burn area in our local mountains to help it regrow again. During an extemely rainy time 2 years ago we did a water working to slow down the rain so it wouldn't flood the mountains and such.

A wiccan combines the energy of nature and their own personal energy to form the "higher power" The symbols of deities are only focus points to connect the two.

The ultimate source of any Wiccan's power is from within him/herself. The same goes for any other Pagan who uses magik.

Spells are best described as an extension of the user's will or intentions. It is therefore the user's willpower that defines whether they succeed or not.

Wicca is a religion. I don't know what this power is you speak of. Wiccans pray like any religious person and their prayers are answered by the God and Goddess.

Witchcraft is a magical system, if this is what you are asking about... well, I'll answer you when you ask the right question.

wicca is an earth bound deeply thoughtful religion and only associated with witchcraft by the uninformed. they believe in harming none. all people, wiccan or not, derive power from freedom and self mastery. but not mystical power. that is rare and in a wiccan with true power, it is a private and sacred thing that they do not exhibit for kicks and giggles.
