No, there is no discipline in schools. Especially where I'm from. Most of the time Teachers own children attend the school, so those students are never reprimanded according to protocall. Then there is the race issue. Most white teachers won't discipline african-american students for fear the parents will call racism. School is too politically correct when all that really needs to be done is to teach these students how to be functioning adults in todays society. Whether that be to teach right from wrong or how to get into a good college, students attend school during there most impressionable point in life. If they are bad in school and don't do well, and don't do anything to change, we'll end up paying for them later on. While they are in prison.

The paddlings have not stopped in Mississippi schools, the only way a child can't be paddled is if the parents sign a document that says the shcool can't paddle their child. Not sure about where you live. Different states have different laws.

Well in my school we have detention, or just a good plain scolding. if people are really bad they put in the "naughty room" (i cant remember the actual name for it) and they have to sit in there and work allllll day for like a week supervised by a teacher and they arent even allowed to go to the toilet alone... then the worst pupils get suspended or even expelled.
I dont think that children are harder to teach right from wrong, i believe they KNOW what they are doing is wrong... but the fact is, they just dont care. children are definately getting worse these days.

It's true ... corporal punishment is only allowed in a few, isolated school districts - and in some private schools. It is very much the exception, rather than the rule.
More's the pity, today's children are insolent, spoiled and have an enormous sense of entitlement.

they try to discipline us as best to their ability but, it doesnt work much, we get saturday work where we have to show up and pick up trash for a couple hours, but we even get food, and then there is "in school suspension:" where you spend the first half of school in a room and do homework or something quite, no talkinga at all, if there is you stay the whole day, and just stuff liek that, but none of its that bad...

Due to the so-called rules in this day & age, schools,
teachers, and especially parents, have no idea what
discipline is !
Just like our so-called justice system:
"WHAT JUSTICE SYSTEM" ?

Maybe they should have spent more time teaching you than beating you. Your English really is pretty poor.
