There are so many reasons why teens drop out in the 9th grade. One, the transition from middle school to high chool is hard and they cannot get used to it on time. Two, family problems are a big factor. Three, peer pressure is even worse. Another reason could be, their parents are not stressing the importance of an education or their parents might be rich.

Because they are under the mistaken impression that they know enough already and will be able to support themselves with a 9th-grade education--when, really, they don't even know the difference between "they're" (meaning "they are") and "their" (meaning, "belonging to them").
