I'm sure the rest of us Atheists will accept your assertion as proof - after all, I'm not so arrogant as to assume I know more about your beliefs than you do - but I'm afraid it's worthless to many believers.
See... in Romans it states that the laws of God are written on the hearts and minds of all men and women, and that all of creation serves as absolute evidence for the existence of the Judea-Christian god, but that some people are just too stubborn to admit it. Those people actively rebel against what they know to be the 'truth' so that they won't have to serve anything but their own interests.
Ridiculous (if not blatantly insulting) to you and I, most certainly, but not to someone that believes the bible to be the inerrant word of their god.
I was once a fundamentalist Christian. If, as a believer, you're sticking to your guns about the bible being the inerrant word of god, you have to believe that some people are so deceived that they lie even to themselves, just to avoid humility. If, instead, you chose to take people at their word and admit that some people really don't believe in the existence of your god or any other, you have to concede that the bible is wrong.
Admitting the bible might be wrong is a faith endangering thing. Pointing out that people might be wrong is easy, and readily supported by the bible. No risk, no fear.
Still, even having the unique viewpoint of having been a devout believer in the past - I'll admit that it pisses me right off sometimes. *shrugs*

Yes. Although just because perhaps you are not able to know, or believe in God does not mean you are not going to heaven. Acting in an ontological God pleasing manner whether you can believe in or know The True God before your death is what will determine your life after death. Atheism does not necessarily condemn you to hell. Some people are not given the ability to understand partial differentiation, or calculus, or that the earth is not flat, some people do not know if they themselves exist, etc. in a million years. Some are not able to know Who God Is while here on earth but will find out after death.
God Is, transcends, is intimately and primarily associated with everything that is truly good.

Was there ever any question about the existence of atheists?
Last time I checked, there were quite a few of them.
I hope there hasn't been any kind of mass extinction or anything. That would very bad.

No you are not the only one but it does mean you have made yourself one of many gods. As an Atheist your god is yourself, good and bad is defined by what you think. There is no god but you.
Not a bad idea. Just not exactly true.

given the fact that you're not the only person in the world, i do believe that even if you weren't an atheist, there would still be some other people believing in atheism. no hard feelings.

Don't feel offended by the bible-thumpers: their lives are so dull that they feel they have to pass on their boredom to others.
I'm also an atheist and a Satanist, but since they don't believe in me, I guess I don't exist. I'll have to invent myself.

Not to someone too pigheaded to believe there are atheists in this world. Those people are just plain nuts.
