I think that I would be tempted to start a relationship like this BUT to be perfectly honest......Long distance is something I would prefer to stay away from....I hate even dating anyone more than say 20 miles away from where I live....I have a 15 yr. old boy and 3 nieces, I have a lot of obligations and not a whole lot of time to waste.....it would just make more sense for someone like me to find someone closer to home, when I was younger, I probably would have considered it, in fact I did have a long distance relationship a couple of times and it worked out to a certain extent.....BUT it takes two really special people who are willing to deal with a lot of time away from the one they love and sometimes deal with worrying about deception or if the other one is cheating on you.....in a lot of ways it can cause more damage and pain from mind games than anything else. Not entirely impossible though!!! I ALWAYS have faith in true love!!

No. It's bad enough you might not know all about a person who isn't long distance but when they are you limit yourself from truly knowing who your dealing with before you jump into a commitment.
If I was only seeing someone a couple times a year, I will be on my best behavior when I see them because you can catch more bees with honey. But when you see someone on a regular, I feel you get the chance to pick up on behavior or warning signs of abuse, alcoholism/drugs, and other potential character flaws that can sabotage a relationship,

i am in this situation for real actually. my boyfriend lives in scotland right now, me in the us.
i've known him for a year, i met him online (of course). we've talked on the phone, seen each other on camera. now we just have to meet in person. we were going to this july for the first time, but money problems came about.
he's even going to move here to be with me. so yes long distances can work wonderful, you just have to be honest and talk as much as you can with that person.
i hope you do fine someone like i have. the internet isn't a bad place for relationships at all.

I have had a couple bad experiences with long-distance relationships. And I'm really not willing to go that route again. It's just too hard on both parties involved.

I have tried this type of relationship 2 times. They both start out fine, then the distance started to wear on me and in both cases, we slowly drifted apart. Long distance relationships are not for everyone.

yes, i would consider a long distance relationship with him...but at some point you'll have to decide to make a move to be closer together assuming things work out. Believe me, it's tough.

No. Relationships like that don't last. What happens when you guys want to go to the movies. Nope. You can't do little stuff like that because you live too far apart. The little stuff is what counts.
