why does milk have an expiration date if cottage cheese is spoiled milk? (let ya ponder that for a while)

I used to think no but over the years I've discovered that the closer to the use by date you get the chunkier it gets. Fresh sour cream is creamy and yummy. Older sour cream not so good but adequate.

Expiration dates are set by law and must be sold by a specific date. That doesn't mean that once you buy it that it can't be eaten or drank until a later date.
