No, no weight loss...but a fun puzzle:

I went to the fair. At the fair was a guy with 100 cups, all sitting upside down on the table. He said there is a ball under ONE and only one cup. He asked me to point to whatever cup I thought the ball was under. I did. He then took all the cups off the table except for mine and one other. He said "one cup has the ball, one does not" I had 2 choices given to me:
1) Stick with my original guess
2)Change my guess to the other cup

So? What should I do and does it make a difference?? why???

And yes...I posted this question here cause more people look here than anywhere else!
And yes...I know the answer. But...............DO YOU?????????

I always stick with my first instincts, but in this case.... The odds that you picked the right cup on your first try are slim to none (1 in 100), but he would know exactly which cup had the ball in it. So I would choose the other cup.

Yay for long, easy runs. :) May you have many more.

Let's see... I believe you'd have a better chance by going with the *other* cup. What are the chances you actually got the right one out of 100? He, on the other hand, would know where the ball was. Then again, maybe I'm making a fool of myself here.

choose the other cup
the chances of the ball being under the cup you chose is 1 in 100
but the guy knows which cup he put it in so you should choose the other one

Hmmm, intelesting.

It is a 50/50 chance for you but it is 1 in 100 for him but it is actually 100% for him because he knows it.
