Ok I live on the East Coast and have spent my summer in Carolina Beach etc, and our beaches are nice they are more quite and a family beach more for fishing. And for me which is about 1 half our trip it is more reasonable, because I do not have airfare etc. And I can stay on the beach side for 120.00 a night. But you are all the way from California, and if you want something different and willing to shell out that kind of dough, why not try Mexico. Our American dollars go alot futher in Mexico. There is a website www.iberostar.com and they are located in Mexico close to cancun, and the beaches are beautiful and out of this world. Maybe you could stretch your money out in Mexico try the website and maybe you will find something you like. When you go to the website you will have to pick location and it will start out as Spain keep on going down the line until you get to Mexico. Anyway hope you both have a safe and lovely trip. :) I just tryed the website and for 5 nights in a junior suite it is 183.00 a night and 148.00 double room. But the pictures of this place looks like paradise.

Yes. That's a lot of money, but not necessarily for a week-long vacation. Does it include meals? Try a fly-drive vacation and stay at lower-priced hotels along the way. There's lots of good hotels outside of the big cities of the East Coast that let you stay for $100-$200 a night.

Depends...are you going someplace like NYC? then $3500 is relatively cheap for 8 days in a decent hotel, plane tickets, food and beverages, car rental, gas, shopping, etc.... Hell, I've seen people pay 3500 for dinner in NYC. Otherwise $3500 isn't so bad for 2 people for a vacation, wherever you go. Make sure you enjoy it if you think it's alot of money to sepnd.

That's outrageous. I found a small hotel on the commuter rail about a 30 minute ride north of the city for about 50 a night, its not top of the line but its safe and it won't break the bank. You can find something for a lot less

I think that is a lot of money, but you don't specify what the week will include. I think you should hop on the internet and start checking out the travel website and airline sites for a much, much better deal. Then you won't have to scrimp for a whole year and you'll have more money to play with on your trip.

You realize that Niagra Falls is an 8 hour trip from NYC? And don't listen to the yokels telling you not to go to New York, the greatest City in the world.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Of course, it depend son where you are coming from and where/what towns, states you are staying in - so elaborate - but the short answer - too much. You could go to Australia, for 2 people, including plane fare, hotel, etc for less.

why in the world would you want to go to the east coast for a vacation? for that money go to hawaii or alaska, anyplace cool. i've lived in various places on the east coast. dont go to niagra falls, what are you going to do 30 seconds after looking at it? the area isnt particularly pretty. besides, if you've seen one waterfall you've seen them all. i spent less money on my nine day honeymoon at a five star resort!

It sounds like she's paying for her boyfriend to go as well. $350 would be more realistic for the east coast.
