Hello - If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. I am from San Diego, CA but will be making a business trip to different cities near the Atlanta area. I am trying to decide in which city I should book my hotel.
I will be in the following cities for these # of days - Smyrna 1, Marietta 1, Norcross 1, Roswell 1, Alpharetta 3, Duluth 1, Lawrenceville 1. So for these 9 business days and 4 weekend days, I would like to stay in one hotel in one city. Does anyone have any advice as to which city I should stay in? After these cities, I will need to go to Macon for 1 day and Augusta for 1 day.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

Stay in Roswell b/c you will be on that side of the city for most of your journey. If you want to stay in high style, you will have to stay IN the city of Atanta, but you will have to have your concierge or a driver take you to all your destinations. I prefer the W or the Lenox Marriott on Peachtree in theheart of Atlanta. There, you will be able to enjoy your 4 weekend days without going too far becuase all the best shopping dining and nightlife is in that general area. If I were you I would find a hotel, then map out my travel plans on Yahoo Directions for each destination of your business plans. I would hate for you to get lost in that huge city. It is very spread out and traffic is fierce, so add 30 minutes time to every trip you take so as not to be late.

good hunting...

Roswell is probably your best bet. All the cities are on the north side as you probably already know. Roswell is pretty centrally located and it is a decent city with good places to eat etc. Roswell, Duluth and Alpharetta are all somewhat yup scale towns.. You may also consider sandy springs or dunwoody. which are located right below roswell, bordering 285 and 400. The biggest issue down here is horrible traffic, during rush hour, it can easily take over an hour to go 20 miles from suburb to suburb. I work in alpharetta and it normally took me an hour and 20 min to get home from work in west marietta.

You should stay in Roswell. Roswell sits due North Atlanta (about 20 miles) up GA 400. Alpharetta is just up 400 from Roswell.

Marietta is just a few miles West of Roswell (down GA Hwy 120) Smyrna is just South of Marietta.

Norcross, Duluth, and Lawrenceville are all East of Roswell. Norcross is down Holcomb Bridge Road from Roswell. You can get to Duluth and Lawrenceville by following Hwy 120 East out of Roswell.

There are a number of Hotels around Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell and Mansell/North Point Area of Roswell.

Like someone else said, traffic is really bad here and all of these cities are located East to West from one another. Atlanta has down a really good job of creating North South routes in and out of Atlanta, but a horrible job of traffic patterns East to West in the suburbs.

When you do travel, leave yourself a lot of time to get to your destination, because you will be traveling surface streets.

In order to get to Macon, you will take 400 South out of Roswell to 75 South in ATL. Macon is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours South of Atlanta. To get to Augusta, you follow 400 south out of Roswell to 75/85 South to ATL then to I-20 East to Augusta. Augusta is about 2 to 2/12 hour East of Atlanta.

Alpharetta because you'll spend more days there and you don't to travel from Alpharetta to the other places during Atlanta traffic hours which around 3:00p.m.-8:00p.m.

I would really say Marietta cause there is this really big hotel there called the LA QUINTA and they have 1 indoor pool and 1 outdoor pool. And tennis courts and many more activities and stuff. And it's right across from the Parisian Mall.
and if you want to you can message back and i'll tell you more and directions!! THANX
