Well you can always check out the Summer Film Festival in Bryant Park. That is on Monday's all summer.
Location: The lawn of Bryant Park (40th St. & 6th Avenue)
That could be a really nice way to end a tour around Midtown and Times Square. Plus it's free.
You can also try Shakespeare in the Park

You can go to Chinatown and walk through Little Italy. I would recommend trying some of the food.
If you are into R&B and Jazz you can try
Harlem Meer Performance Festival
on
July 2: SWEET GEORGIA BROWN Down-home blues, jazz, and R&B

You must ride the Staten Island ferry.
you must visit China town
You actually should divide the city into four There are too many things to see and do in such a short stay.
Times square at night is a great attraction .
Central park zoo in the daytime.
If you like museums there are so many to choose from.
You may want to take one of the sight seeing buses from the battery park section. The statue of liberty is a popular attraction.
The night life is second to none depending on if you are into that.
The circle line is a really nice trip also.

Go down to South Ferry/Battery Park (that's where you can check out the Statue of Liberty) and book a seat on one of the bus tours. Those buses make it all over the city and are a great way to see a lot of stuff.
Other than that, you have to do Times Square for pics, I'd check out the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), get around Central Park a bit, and shop around Soho.

First stop should be Times Square. That's where you could feel the overwhelming electricity of the city. I used to work in midtown Manhattan and dined at a local deli, the tourist always were speechless about the sheer energy, power, and electricity of Times Square.
