I am 14 and this guy I like is 19 and we been hitting it off, very well. However, I fear that my parents and his parents would not allow it because of the age different. I do not know what to do because we really like each other, but we both fear what our parents might say or do. Or what others might think of it what should I do.

age doesnt matter, but you should wait until you are an adult, you dont want him to get into trouble, remember, statutory rape is still rape even if the minor consents

At 14 five years is a big age difference. He is an adult and whether you like it or not you are a child (minor). The sad truth is he is probably only interested in your because you are 14 and he enjoys boasting to his mates about how he can get someone so young to go for him. Do yourself a favor, find a younger guy, 14-16 to go out with. You shouldn't find a problem finding a guy around that age. If you are then you should ask yourself why you are only attracting older guys.

What do YOU think is the future in a relationship betwen a 14 and 19 year old? When he goes to college he'll meet lots of girls his own age. When the novelty is worn off he'll dump you.

He can go to bars, you can't.
He can legally have sex, you can't.
He can get married, you can't.
He can go to college, you can't.
He can move out and live on his own, you have to live with your parents.
He can get a full time job, you can't.

He is an adult and anything he does with you sexually is illegal.

At 14, you're still too young to tie yourself down completely. This is the age of discovery and you should be interested in spending time with many different guys (note that I said spend time with, not sleep with! please wait until you feel you are completely ready!) A 5-year difference is not a big deal except when it comes to your situation where you are a minor and the guy you like is considered an adult. If you do truly value him at all, you should stay away from him in a romantic way as he can go to jail and he will have to register as a sex offender for being with a minor. Is it worth it to cause that kind of mess? Ultimately, you'll have worse heartache while he rots in jail. And honey, no one wants to date a guy who is or has been in jail. My boyfriend and I are 5 years apart but I'm 30 and he's 35. Big difference there as we're both consenting adults. I know it's a drag at your age, but if you're concerned at all about what you're parents will do, I'm telling you to get out of this now before it becomes worse. Good luck.

Age is only a number, when it comes to relationships when you are old enough to understand what you want in a relationship and when both parties are old enough to really understand. You being 14 and this guy being 19 that is not a good idea and should I mention it is illegal...did that ever come to mind. I am sure that this relationship will not last....who knows maybe you will prove me wrong. The only reason I am saying that it will not last is because your parents wont let it. You have to have your parents approval of your relationship when you are at such a young age. Good luck with your decision.

Well think about this the guy could go to jail for being with you. But maybe talk to you parents and see what they say. Or just wait till your older to date guy that are 19. There will always be another guy that comes along and sweeps you off ur feet.

Uh...I do have a boyfriend that his 5 years older than me but I'm over 18. You on the other hand..probably should wait until then...to be 18 I mean and then you shouldn't have any legal issues and I don't know if he knows or not but you are jail bait and he his issues wanting to be with a 14 year old. He's cradle robbing!!

A 5 year age difference is fine, but you are too young for a relationship.

the age difference should not matter as long as the both of you like each other a lot. For ex. my ex boyfriend was 4 years older than me and i told my parents about him and they were a little mad but then they realized we were happy together. so they let us be together.

5 years is not that big a difference, HOWEVER, you are only 14. it is very illegal for you two to even have a relationship. you never know what may happen. here in pa, there was a younger girl and an older guy dating and the guy killed the girls parents and then took her away...............................stay away!!!!!

you are barely a teenager!!! its not the age difference....is YOUR AGE. You arent even old enough to have sex yet. That could be considered rape. you are TOO young....I'm in a relationship with a difference of 6 years....but im not as young as you....I'm way past legal...wow....parents, do you know where your kids are?
