What is your best way to stop mailbox bashers??? What do you do to keep them from smashing your box?

1 - build your mailbox out of brick
2- mount your mailbox on the side of a 4x4 post, with the post facing the direction of traffic
3- get two mailboxes - one large, one small. fit the smaller one inside the larger and fill the space in between with concrete.
4- put up a decoy mailbox filled with concrete.

There are MANY folks who will suggest that you build your mail box out of bricks, or out of concrete.
And that is a fine idea - and it will prevent your box from beeing destroyed by mail-box bashers.
Unfortunitly it will ALSO open you up to the possibility of a lawsuit if anyone is driving down the road, swerves off the side for a second, hits your impenitrable mailbox, and dies, or worse is maimed by it.
Or even by the punk kid who hits your mailbox with a bat and breaks his wrist in the process. His parents will sue you - bet on it.
Mail boxes are suposed to be destructable for a reason - especially in areas of the country that get snow and ice in the winter.
A much better idea is to get a flexable plastic mail box that will deform when hit, or get knocked down by a car, and then return to it's previous shape afterwords.
An even better idea still is to get a secuity camera and a porch light and place them somewhere where you can get pictures of whoever has been destroying your mailbox, as well as a picture of their license plate.

Depends, if they are using a bat, switch the empty box with one filled with cement.

Wire your box to the electric supply that should stop them ,

get a steel mail box they will hurt themselves if they try to smash it!

Booby trap it so that a bomb goes off if anything hits it. That'll work pretty good.

I dont know, but the UPS guy hit mine, and didnt even offer to repair it. stupid bastard..
