I'm gonna guess that I'm the only one in the room whose had veterinary parasitology and your decription isn't much help. Best guess its a tape worm segment or a round worm, but take the worm to a veterinary office and they can identify it and take a fecal sample to check for other parasites that cannot be seen like coccidia. They will give you medications that actually work and explain if the parasites are infective to you or members of your household (i.e. children)

Go to the pet store and buy a wormer. There are wormers that kill most worms....some worms take a specific agent. Read the label on the over the counter stuff. It does not hurt to worm the cat for everything.

The best thing to do is just call your vet and have them give you medication for your cat. It could be either pinworm or tapeworm. The meds are the same for both kinds.

You need to take your cat to the vet, it could be parasitic - which means it multiples quickly and begins to devour your cats internal organs. You can usually get medication to solve this at your local department store (like a wal mart).
