I think it depends on how you are feeling. If you had a C-section, I would wait a bit so you don't pull stiches or anything. But, if you are feeling okay, try a few and see how you feel. Don't overdo it at first, work your way back up to a full workout. Your body has just been through a major ordeal and you don't want to rush too much. Start with 5 and see how it goes. If you feel okay, go for a few more. If not, take it easy. Also, I am sure you know this, but it never hurts to call the doctor and check. You can always ask the receptionist - they can get a nurse and ask them quickly without bothering the doctor or making you go in for an appointment. Just tell them your question and they can give you a better idea. Good luck getting back into shape!

Did you have a c-section? If so, I would wait. Also just feel how your body is doing - I think most would not want to do large amounts of exercise right after giving birth. Give it a few weeks and use this time to further bond with your baby.

Why the heck would you wanna start doing situps already? Are you a health nut? You should be worrying more about caring for your baby, and wait till your doctor gives you the okay for you to start exercising.

You should not do any kind of exercise until you go to your post natal doctors visit. It wont do you much good to do sitr ups a week after giving birth because your uterus has to go back down to its regular size and that takes a very long time.
