I give them Advantage flea and tick treatments every month but they never fail to bring in some new kind of bug. They do bite because I found one stuck to my foot. Does anyone know what these things are and how to get rid of them for good?

If they're black and very tiny, the size of a pinhead, then they are deer ticks or black-legged ticks and carry Lyme Disease. you don't want to mess around with those, keep your cat inside and check yourself out for symptoms.

From the sounds of it, your cat is bringing in baby ticks..They are extremely tiny but look identical to normal ticks. Frontline is about the best flea and tick treatment on the market. It's a little spendy, but definately well worth it. As for the ticks outside, you're going to have to spray your yard. Probably a couple times just to make absolutely sure that they're gone.

Ugh, I've seen the ticks you describe!

Get another flea and tick treatment: Front Line is one of the best I've seen. Get the ticks out of your yard.

And you might want to treat your house for fleas and ticks, in case they've laid eggs.

Good luck!

Treat your home(flea boms), your cat and your yard. Also just keep the cat in will help, but unless you treat the yard, you and your family can also bring the ticks in.

Keep your cats in, and spray your yard with a flea and tick killer.

DOn't let them out and they won't get ticks. It's not cruel to keep them inside - actually they'll live longer and have less chance of suffering a horrible death.
