well i think we should take a new one after every 3-4 months but if it is well then check it with simple tests like
1 toch it with your teeth and press lightly if its easy then use it.
2 see wheather the paste on brush is properly getting in it or not.

A toothbrush is good for 2 months. Once it no longer retains its original shape, it has lost its cleaning power. A new toothbrush is being designed by a dentist friend of mine, it will last two years, and the bristles are made out of titanium.

i would say a toothbrush should be changed every 6 months . just like your dentist check ups should be every 6 months

My mum was a dentist(before she retired),the reccommendation is to change your tooth brush every 3 months in order to get good results from the brush.
I change mine every march june sept and dec,this maybe because my mum was a dentist and its been drummed into me.

I've heard you need to throw out your toothbrush every 3 months and especially toss it if you've been sick.
