Sorry but prognosis is not good

In stage 4, lung cancer has already spread to other organs of the body. Some treatments may help prolong life but the prognosis is very poor.

The prognosis isnt good at all....yes there have been a FEW that have survived stage 4 of other cancers...unfortunately its the beginning of the end...stage 4 usually progresses very quickly and there is no reversing the damage thats been done...time is of the essence at this point to get things in order and to say goodbyes...I know from being with both parents who died from cancer...

Stage IV lung cancer has a very poor prognosis....maybe a few months to a year at most.

Extremely bad unfortunately.
Stage 4 means that the cancer has metastasized to other parts of your body. This basically means that operating is out of question, since it would most likely introduce cancerous cells into your blood stream, thus increasing metastasis.
However, there are certain treatments that could allieviate the symtoms, as well as prolong life expectancy.

Patients with stage IV disease are almost never cured, and the goals of therapy are to extend their life and improve the quality of life.

Stage 4 of any cancer is terminal...no chance of recovery.
