Ok DONT get a ford truck they suck. If u want a newer chevy truck, you will hae to go with a S-10, unless you want a silverado with 200,000 miles on it. You could find a 2wd im sure, but why get a truck then? Best bet is to find a dodge ram, 1996-2001 model i think. You can find a decent one for $6,000-$7,000. Or you could get a Dakota...Little cheaper but get better gas milage. Plus you can still find one for under $6000 with 4wd and extended, even crew cab if u are lucky. So if it was me, i would go wiht the Dakota. I guess a Toyota Tacoma wouldnt be bad, they do last over 200,000 miles easily, but i would still stay american in the world of pickups.

I had a 91 Dodge Ram diesel that had 350,000 original miles and was still going strong with no motor/ major mechanical issues. I had to sell it when our second child came along. I have regreted selling it to this day. In fact my husband and I have decided if we ever have a boy it will be Dodge or Hemi. Also my trucks name was the chrome princess. Hence the email address.

I would trade it because Mustangs are FORDs and Ford means Fix Or Repair Daily.Trade it,plus in a truck you'll have more room!

The new Chevrolet Silvarado is about 16,000. You can probably get a used one for about the price you are looking for. I know people who have had them for years. Dodges cost more, but I think are better trucks. Good luck.

Stay away from Japanese trucks, they make my mechanic crazy, look at Dodge, if you can find an 1997-2000 Ram I think you will be real happy
