You are right we are not to judge and to love and respect each other. But you can accept the person but not the sin. Jesus accepted people as they were (are). But he also condemned the lifestyle. In fact some of the other answers here that I have read have right.

I can accept a person but not what they do. If Jesus can do this, then Christians are able to do this too. The problem comes when Christians equate the sin with the person. This is what causes problems. If you can not accept a person despite the sin then we are not going to be able to do the great commission that Christ gave for us to do.

People judge others because they don't understand!
Some find homosexuality a sin, others just find it plain disgusting.
I am an Athiest and I try not to judge anyone regardless of colour, creed or sexuality.
Everyone has the right to be who they are. They should be allowed to be happy doing what they do without prejudice from others, but unfortunately there are those who feel that they know better and if you don't agree with their views and opinions then you are wrong!

As far as religion is concerned, I find the whole thing extremely hypocritical. People have been brain washed into leading a life of fear if they don't believe in and worship 1 person ie God. That is why I refuse to believe. I will NOT be feared into doing something I don't want to do. The only people I truly worship are my family. They don't demand anything from me. If I disagree with them I can still go round for dinner!! To me that is Love, not do as I say or else!
Religion is one of the biggest causes of war in this world. It is hypocritical and one of the most dangerous cults to belong to!

Homosexuals come to the churches and organizations forcing their lifestyles and expecting others to embrace it is wrong in itself! Homosexuals know that it is wrong and is against some religions but expects Christianity to only look at God's love for his creation. God does love everyone that he has created but Homosexuals have went against the God-given laws of nature between a man and a woman. A True Christian or a religious organization should Not compromise with sin and sinners! Jesus didn't and I will definitely not! John 7:24 "Judge righteous judgment"!

Anyone who judges (abomination or no) is having a big ego trip. They are placing themselves in gods position and feel that they are superior to anyone esle. No body and I mean no body is qualified to do the creators work. He/she is the only one that can and will do such.

Besides I do not see why the hetero crowd is so upset. The homosexual group does not go out and knock on doors trying to spread the word of thier lifestyle, they do not try to convert others to their way of living. Is it not said to love thy neighbor as you would have them love you? Doesn't that mean to accept them as they are. What about "Do not attempt to remove the mote from your neighbors eye, until you remove the board from your own"?. Come on Christian fundies that means don't try to correct someone else until you yourself have fixed your own flaws. I challenge any christian to say that they live the bible to the letter, including no pork, no mixed fibers ect.

I bet that once you realize that you have broken all of gods rules with maybe the exception of one or two, you will not be so quick to judge. There is no Christian alive today that can claim ultimate holiness in living, is there is then they are lying.

Be careful of judging others for what they do to be happy and it not harming anyone, you are showing your ignorance and arrogance. And to judge based on sexual orientation is showing fear in yourself. You are afraid that you may be "converted". If not then of what? I accept everyone for what they are no matter of religion, race, or sexual orientation. The kicker is I have been told that I am more christian that most christians. I am a witch and have been in a same sex relationship with the same person for over 10 years now. I was married to a man (if you want to call him that). He was a hypocrite and a half.

I think you are badly misrepresenting Christians' attitude toward homosexuality.

Christians do not judge homosexual people. As you correctly pointed out, it's up to us to love and respect others, including those who engage in homosexual acts.

But it is appropriate for Christians to place homosexual BEHAVIOR under the light of judgment, and to conclude that this behavior is morally illicit.

We do this not to judge people, or to try to take away from their fun.

We do this to honor God's command that homosexual acts are "an abomination."

We also do this to show our concern and compassion for homosexuals. That's right -- opposing homosexual behavior is an act of love and concern.

Why? Because such behavior is very medically risky and dangerous. The average life span of a gay man in the USA is only around 40 years old. Only about 1% of gay men live to old age.

In terms of health risk, a man is better off being a pack-a-day smoker than being actively gay.

But we don't accept and embrace smoking and push it as normal -- not anymore, anyway. So, why do we do it with homosexuality?

Julia: God does not need false or misrepresented facts to back his rules.

Your intelligent illnesses who can tell the difference between gay and straight people don't exist.

Your statistic on the average life span of a homosexual doesn't take into account the fact that nobody knows how many closeted homosexuals have lived to a very old age. This statistic that you post as a response to every question regarding homosexuality only takes in to account the "known" homosexuals, not the ones we don't know about. This makes it a very dishonest statistic.

God doesn't need lies to support his opinions, dear, so please, once again, I'm going to ask you politely, stop posting them.

You can believe anything you want, but don't lie for God. Lying is as much of a sin as homosexuality. Both will burn in the pits of hell according to your Bible.

Christians don't judge. God does. The rules of the Christian faith say that homosexuality is wrong. If you don't like that or cannot live with that, then don't become a Christian. You cannot stand on the outside of a religion and pretend to understand why they believe what they do and you don't have a right to judge their beliefs as right or wrong either.

Because homosexuality is against God and against nature. WE do love and accept all but acceptance does not mean that you have to agree with what is wrong. Acceptance means that you love in spite of flaws. I respect all people and I love mankind but I do not agree with what is not right. That is not love to go along with people just so that they are not offended. Love is when you care enough to tell people that what they are doing is not good. The people who love me tell me when i am not being Godly or behaving well. WE all are sinners. I do not think that homosexuals are any worse than fornicators or adulterers (maybe a little grosser but not worse). They are all sexual sins and we are all sinners hoping for salvation.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself but I am against homosexuality. It is on moral grounds that I base my belief because I believe God created man and woman to be together and enter marriage and produce a family. Now being against homosexuality is one thing, but judging an individual who is a homosexual (for whatever reason) is wrong. We are taught to love the sinner just as Jesus did, but to hate the sin as Jesus did. I am not judging those who openly practice the act of homosexuality, I pray for them while at the same time maintaining the belief that homosexuality is a sin. It is for God to judge other people....not me.

The relation of a man and a woman is the way to procreate, so the family. Religions are moral codes that seek procreation and happiness and respect to each other. So Behaviors that are not aligned to those goals are against those moral codes.
Also when homosexual behavior is not very common and it is seen abnormal, homosexual practices are hidden and older people try to abuse those who may be less reluctant,or defensive, Children.
