first of all i respect all religions. i however am a pagan and i ask that you not convert but that you respect me and try to understand that i believe that i am on the right path for me. to me my religion is as important to me as yours is to you.
so my question is
why is this so hard to understand?? i respect you ... you respect me... life is good ... that is the way it should be.

In as far as you respect my right for free expression of my values that I derive from my faith in my dealings with my rights as an american veteran to be included in all the privileges afforded me by the constitution, we should get along just fine. Answer me this. If you saw someone drowning, would you help them? That is the way that Christians see others. We would like to help you, but just like some drowning people, you push us away.
I do not pressure anyone and do not go down handing out tracts, etc. However, if I have a conversation with you, my religion generally will be evident. If you don't want to hear about it, I respect that and will talk about something else. But I will always give you the opportunity to hear.

Why does it matter if they don't understand?
They have the right not to understand love. Just carry on. Who cares?
If you live a good life, and the joy of your path reflects in your eyes, they will respect that. But it takes time.
It's going to take time for folks to realize it's not just a "phase". Respect comes later.
But they won't understand, or they'd convert. Just like we can't understand what's so great about their God, that horrifies us more the more we hear about him. If we understood, we'd convert, wouldn't we?
But who wants everyone to be the same. If the forest had only Elm trees, and the Dutch Elm disease hit it, there'd be no forest. You need pines, oaks, alders, etc.

As a pagan, do you believe in Creation or Evolution? Guess what, you can be right either way with the glory of Intelligent Design. ID is the spiritual/scientific solution to all man's questions.

I was raised in a very strict catholic family, and by the time I tuned 14 I started to read the Bible and discovered many things about my religion I did not like, so I quit and became an atheist.
The best answer I found to this human dilemma was written by Martin Luther: "We have enough religion to kill each other, but not enough to love each other".

I completely agree with you i am catholic and the last thing i want to do is convert you. If you had any questions about my religion i would be glad to answer it and i would hope the same for me if i had questions i think you would answer them. I do respect you and i hope you journey in your religion is going in the right direction and is leading you to where you want to be. : )

They cannot convert you unless you are willing. Take it in stride, bud. Suddenly everyone's interested in your "soul" and feel some cult-driven need to 'save it'. Whatever.
You are a duck. They are water. Let then wash over you and into the gutter.
Just don't sink to their levels by being hateful and intolerant (not saying that you are).
So, wipe off the holy water and shake off their rites of exorcism, brother. You're not alone. Hell, everyone who isn't Christian isn't alone!

I understand you completely. I feel you have every right to your beliefs as I do mine. I will only pose one philosophical question to you that was once given to me and I am Catholic.
Is it better to believe and there not be anything or not believe and there is?

People are not tolerant to other peoples beliefs and thoughts. Do whatever you want its your life and as long as you are not hurting anybody thats fine with me.
