Good question.

We could also ask the same question about homeless shelters, schools, soup kitchens, crisis pregnancy centers, and so on.

The only thing I can think of that's been built in the name of atheism is abortion clinics.

Is it the buildings themselves that cure illness and disease, or is it the science behind the cures?

The TRUE difference is made in the laboratories, and most of that work is carried out by - if not atheists, evolutionists.

How can I say this? Because the basic biological processes that govern evolution are the tied to the biological process that govern our bodies, as well as the bodies of viruses and bacteria.

So fine, yeah, build hospitals, send your cash to them so that they can buy the equipment that's needed to save lives, and then pat yourself on the back for doing so.

But remember, the real work is done by those that know and understand biology, genetics, chemistry, etc. The real work is done by evolutionists and atheists.

Spare me your anecdotes about religious doctors, the lions share of doctors are evolutionists.

There are lots of hospitals, homeless shelters and other charitable organizations that have no religious connections.

There are many athiests who volunteer their time, money and skill to charitable organizations.

One could ask where are all the research labs, pharmacuetical companies, and enviromentalist organizations in the built in the name of God?

Most of the medical breakthroughs that have occured in the last couple of centuries were made over the loud and persistent objections of the "Godly"--many of those self-same hospitals are saving lives using the tool, techniques and skill of athiest science.

So, religion is big business that can afford these things...Does that prove the validity of it? There is no church of atheism, so no centralized pool of money. I may not be able to build a hospital, but I do what I can. Your smugness is truly god-like.

Atheists are secure enough in their beliefs that they dont have to build hospitals 'in the name of Atheism'. Only people insecure in their religions have to build structures to prove how pius they are.

They build em' b/c it's the religious organizations that have all the money. The "Church" pulls in big cash from peoples guilt, which allows them to put their name all over the place. Just so we don't forget they are there.
Not that religious organization don't help the community, because they do. It's just that atheist have a believe not a place to gather. there are coffee shops for that.

Next door to the orphanages built in the name of atheism. Next door to the atheistic monasteries that preserved literature and education through the Dark Ages. Next door to the food kitchens that give thanks to Nothing before they eat.

Is that why they have priests to read you your last rights. The truth is, god can't save you. When a person gets a disease, they need treatment to live, not prayer. Modern (atheist) medicine is the real thing, and if you don't like it, go get in a car accident and see what you prefer.
