My Friend is on chemopharapy, but her hair on the top of her head is growing faster then the hair at the sides, she wants me to ask if there is any style to have her hair in so she can have her long hair when it grows back, at the moment it is around 2-3 inches at the top and 2.5 inches at the sides, would this make any differnce in growing it, She looks foward to your answers as she is to embarrassed to ask people she knows or her local hair dresser.

Thanks

Honestly, having gone through chemo myself, the best thing to do is to have it trimmed frequently and use good quality (salon only) shampoos and conditioners. Also, she should ask her doctor if she can take a vitamin supplement, which will help her hair grow, when she finishes her therapy.

I feel bad for your friend and can understand her anxiety about asking for help.
If she has a hairdresser look at her hair, even if nothing other than to trim it up, that will help. She'll be surprised at the understanding of the hairdressers will have towards her. I'm sure there are several hairdressers that would be more than happy to help her.
She could aslo get a wig cut in the hairstyle she likes.
Best of luck to her!

If she really wants long hair she can always opt for hair extentions or even a wig.
Wigs are not the horrible things they used to be, The methods used today are far superior to those of ten years ago.
If she wears a wig it will allow her time for her hair to grow to a reasonable length.

maybe she should go to an out of town salon, maybe in a city as I'm sure they deal with this kind of thing all the time. They'll be able to advise her on style and products and there's unlikely to be anyone around that she will know

What a nice friend you are. Well, my friend who had chemo ended up with totally different hair when it grew back. She had straight hair before, and really curly hair afterwards. Your friend needs to wait and see what her hair does, but I'm sure she'll look great, whatever!
