Check out a rescue website like petfinder.com. Also, be aware that most toy breeds have a ton of very expensive genetic problems that can appear - you have to be able to afford a high maintenance dog before getting one. Not all will have problems, but if they do, you could be looking at thousand and thousands of dollars to repair teeth, knees, vision, etc. Know what you are getting into before you buy a small dog simply because they are cute.
Also, you don't say what type of bigger dog. Remember that big dogs with hunting or prey drives can NEVER be trusted with toy dogs. They may view them as prey - they can get along well for a long time, and then the big dog can just snap, killing the little dog. Other issues are accidental injuries from playing or even if the big dog steps on or rolls on the small dog. Again, you could be looking at thousands of dollars in injuries.
If you decide you can't live without a puppy, then make sure you do your homework on what to look for in breeders. Too many don't care about the health of the dogs and are just out to make money.

I have two chihuahuas and they are precious, although yappy!! Teacup Yorkies are precious too, some dogs don't get along with others, best thing to introduce a new puppy , is outside the house. Then eventually bring the new pup in , but do not give all your time to the new pup as your other dog will be jealous. Pay attention to both, but the original dog first..

Try going to a animal shelter, you can find alot of small dogs there and alot of the shelters will let you bring your dog to see if they get along after you have picked one that you are interested in.

My sister raises Teacup Chihuahuas, and they get along just fine with her much larger German Shepherds.
