Take her out to lunch and tell her that you are no longer interested in being a doctor. Don't take a career path that you don't want just to make your parents happy. There are a lot job possibilities out there and you are the one who has to live with yourself. Just break it to your mom in a non-defensive, non-confrontational manner. Show her you have a plan for the future.

Just tell her. It seems like she's living what her life wanted to be through yours. And make sure you have an alternitive job. If you just say i'm not going to be a doctor, it may not seem convincing. And give reason's why you don't want to become one.

You need to cut yourself loose. This kind of mother is overly controlling, but only cuz she loves you so much. it's wrong. She needs to accept that you have your own life to live, and it's too late for her to make you be a doctor.

well first of all u put ur question in the wrong catagory. but just be honest with her and tell her u dont want to be a doctor. and tell her y and all the fun stuff she will probably be very understanding shes ur mom

Mom, I am Not going to be a doctor. I said no *****, You can't control my life for ever mommy. I'm not going to do it (throw yourself on the floor and thrash around) I DON"T WANNA STICK MY FINGERS UP BUMMMMs FOR A LIVING!!!!

Just sit your mother down and explain to her you don't want to be a doctor.Tell her that you want to follow your own dreams.Tell your mother that you have your own life and you can make your own choices.Don't be nervous that your mother will be dissapointed in you.She will be proud you confronted her and spoke your mind.Hope this helps you!!!!Good Luck!!!!
