While all the recipes are fine, I'm not going to rehash it and give you another, except to say, I don't like granny smith (too tart) - either mix granny smith with a sweet apple, or use winesapp or McIntosh - add cinnamon; sugar; fresh lemon juice & FRESH grated nutmeg, and here's the secret ingredient that puts it over the top: add 1/3-1/2 cup maple syrup (real stuff - no cheatin w/Aunt Jemima's) to your apple mixture; dot w/butter before topping with crust!! Enjoy.

First you need about 7 or 8 Large hard apples. In the U.S. we generally use Granny Smith apples. Line a pie plate with a raw pie crust. Peel, core and slice the apples. Add one cup of sugar and cinnamon to taste. Place apples in pie plate and cover with raw pie crust. Crimp the edge of the plate. Bake pie at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or 190 Celsius. until crust is golden brown.
Let it cool and serve with vanilla ice cream and coffee. OK you can use Tea.

go to foodtv.com and go to the drop down menu on the left and find paula's home cooking, she's a great southern chef and you can get a reciped there...otherwise there is allrecipes.com which has oodles of recipes on it for everything, just search for a easy apple pie recipe. by the way it is famous in the US and they are delicious....usually they have sugar, lemon juice (to keep the apples from turning brown) butter and apples all mixed together and put into a pie shell, either homemade or bought ina package from the store you bake them then serve them warm (or cold) with a bit of vanilla ice cream or cheese on top....you just gotta try one, they are wonderful.

Here is the recipe. Hope this will help you make one!!
let me know if it turn out good, ok?
APPLE PIE
Make this pie with a combination of tart apples — such as Winesap or Granny Smith — and sweet varieties like Fuji, Jonagold, Idared, or Mutsu.
Active time: 40 min Start to finish: 3 1/2 hr (includes cooling)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon finely grated fresh lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
2 1/2 lb apples, peeled, cored, and each cut into 10 wedges
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Pastry dough
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Put a large baking sheet in middle of oven and preheat oven to 425°F.
Whisk together flour, zest, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and 2/3 cup sugar and gently toss with apples and lemon juice.
Roll out 1 piece of dough (keep remaining piece chilled) on a lightly floured surface with a lightly floured rolling pin into a 13-inch round, then fit into a 9-inch (4-cup) glass or metal pie plate. Trim edge, leaving a 1/2-inch overhang. Chill shell while rolling out dough for top crust.
Roll out remaining piece of dough on lightly floured surface with lightly floured rolling pin into an 11-inch round.
Spoon filling into shell, then cover with pastry round and trim with kitchen shears, leaving a 1/2-inch overhang. Press edges together, then crimp decoratively. Lightly brush top of pie with egg and sprinkle all over with remaining tablespoon sugar. Cut 3 steam vents in top crust with a small sharp knife.
Bake pie on hot baking sheet 20 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375°F and continue to bake until crust is golden and filling is bubbling, about 40 minutes more. Cool pie to warm or room temperature on a rack, 2 to 4 hours.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.

I use McIntosh Apples and make the crust fresh or if I don't have time I use refrigerated pie dough.I don't care for frozen pie dough the crust is way too salty.
