Do you have a chi? It costs 99 dollars and if you get the frizz ease straightening spray that helps a whole lot i have really thick hair and it is curly curly, and that is what i use. if you buy a cheap straightener it wil damage your hair and it will take longer and will be alot harder to straighten.

If you really want to have straight hair, you can go to a hair salon and get it chemically straightend.
The other option is blowdry your hair with a flat brush. Conair makes one that looks like a straightening iron, but is a brush. It works really well, but I only have medium thickness hair.
There are also over the counter ways to do it. Look for Frizz Ease by umm John Frieda I think. Should be at CVS, Walgreens, maybe Target, etc

I have that problem too. Whenever I straighten my hair with my flattening iron, it always takes almost an hour to do, even though my hair doesn't go past my shoulders.
My Mum suggested using straightening hair products, like shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in stuff. I haven't tried any of that yet, but maybe it would work. Hope you figure it out!

get a chi (its a japanese hair straightener) i have the same problem as you but it works, and what rly works is getting a hair straightener that gives off steam to hydrate you hair so it poofs less, and after it use a chi, then a drop of shining silk stuff from the parlor.
the hydrating straightener i have is called "Maxius"

well i don't need to be mean but use straitening stuff meant for black people or go get it professionally done which ususally lasts for a while. otherwise just straighten your hair every day and eventually it will be very easy to do (but make sure you don't kill your hair by using really good shampoo and conditioner) :)

Try straightening it when it's a little damp. There are special straighteners for that.
Or try to blow dry it first and use a brush it straight as you dry to make it straighter before you straightein it.
