Why is everyone so worried about what Christians believe? If you don't believe it fine... go your own way. But don't sit there and insult their intelligence and tell them their entire life and heritage is based on a bunch of fairy tales. You really have no idea. How do you think a Native American would react if you did these things to him? Or a Buddhist, or a Hinduist? You wouldn't dare insult them the way you do Christians. I know there are some Christians who push it too far, but for humanity's sake, quit judging them and expecting them not to judge you.

"It is solely ego that can cause a man to believe he is the only powerful being in the universe..."

Is that so? The only religion to try and force their beliefs on other people... what do you guys live under a rock? You better be glad you don't live in an Islamic country. Have you ever tried to explain to someone in China that they don't have to believe in Buddhism? Watch out for those cops behind you.

I'd say you're slightly wrong on that one, bub.

Thank you Singing Star. That's how I feel as well. I just fell as though Christianity is an automatic target for hate. It does nothing different than any other religion, except for it's belief in salvation by the death and ressurection. In case you guys haven't been watching the news for the last, oh, 5 years, Islamic leaders have been fighting a religious war, killing infadels and those who resist. Maybe most Muslims don't share the same beliefs as these extremists, but that's my point with Christianity as well.

No. Why would I? That's insulting to the Buddhists & the Native Americans, and in turn, I'd be insulting myself, since I'm 1/8th Native American. I'd rather LEARN about their religion instead. Besides, if you REALLY think about it, EVERY SINGLE religion out there has SOMETHING in common with another.

If I was going to do that, then I'd be insulting every religion out there by being so narrowminded & judgmental. Then it'd come to the point where my attitude & POV would be "my way or the highway". I hope I NEVER get to that point.

christianity is the only religion that tries to force there beliefs onto others so we as nonchristians feel we have the right to fight back against this group of people. i feel the world already had its own set of beliefs before christianity came along to begin with. thats why we dont even bother with all the other cultures and beliefs that are out there today.

2000 years of christianity and it still hasnt done us any favors in the respect all religions and beliefs. i would think that by now christians would stop trying to convert the world into its own likeness.

What's with the Spanish Inquisition? Salem Witch trials? Priest having sex with altar boys? Hmm... Oh wait, wasn't there a war between protestants and catholics in europe?
As far long as I see it, it has been a trouble maker. Not the religion it self but those who tries to convert others to the believe of Christianity. Other than that I have nothing to say.

No, because Native Americans and Buddhists don't try to force their beliefs on me in the form of laws and infiltration of the public education system. They don't bother me, I don't bother them.

As an edit response to what you wrote, I didn't say Christians were the only group in the world that forces their religion on people. To be fair, you didn't even mention Christians in your original question, and I didn't mention them in my original answer.

I don't live in an Islamic country, I don't live in China (and since one of the main ideas of communism is the obliteration of religion, I doubt people there are forcing Buddhism on anyone...anyway), I live in the US. And in the US, Christians have a lot of political and social power to make people who don't agree with them have to live a Christian-esque lifestyle, and it's power they definitely USE. (Who on this message board can't buy liquor on Sundays?) Frankly, I'm not talking about the rest of the world, I'm taking about what affects me and my daily life.
