So if I chose to believe in "God"(sp?) then I'm good-to-go, right?

I just have to believe that Jesus died for my sins, even though I don't believe in sin

Believe that "God"(sp?) is good, even though I think it is evil

And there is something else I'm forgetting I'm sure, what is it? There are usually three steps.

Oh, crap that's what it is. I have to start paying tithes to a church.

Then I'll be good, right?

Wow, homeslice almost had me brainwashed.

I didn't know that me saying 'if I chose to believe in God' meant that I acknowledge God's existence.

You're good.

If I chose to believe I have $6 million in the bank do I actually have it?

The key to conversion is not to think. Leave that to the professionals. Once they've got you properly lubricated - I mean once they've initiated you, you just need to do what you have been told and everything else will fall into place.
Stop thinking so much. That isn't healthy.

No one can convert anyone else into anything. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Unless a person is ready for a change or to learn something new, it cannot be forced upon them. I am happy that I was ready to learn something new about new age spirituality this year. There are so many wonderful teachers out there that I hadn't a clue about. Now I see them, read them, hear them everywhere. They've always been there, I couldn't see because I wasn't ready. And that's okay. That's the way it is supposed to be. It is all perfect, just the way it is. It's the process of life itself.

There are probably tons of other things out there that I have no idea about. I'm sure there's information in abundance, and someday, I may be ready to find it. Or not. Either way, it's all good! :)

Sounds close to me. Two things stick out right away:

1. What was Jesus' death really worth if not as a payment for your sins to a God who is Holy and cannot accept sin? If you take away any of those factors, it seems to become meaningless.

2. Tithes are not required. What you do or don't do won't make a difference. It's all who you know. However, it is widely believed that paying tithes is basically a good thing, it's more for your benefit than it is for the person you give it to (even Jim and Tammy Faye--who took it and ran), and that Jesus wants us to do this.

The true path to conversion is to trust in Jesus Christ that he died for your sins and that He is the only one that can save us from an eternity in hell. You also must believe that God created all, and that we were not created by something so absurd such as monkeys or a "big bang." As far as tithes go, I am a true, strong believer in God, and I have never paid my "tithe." God wants you to be a cheerful giver. If you don't feel you need to give, then you don't. It is better to be that way then to give just because you think you should...that doesn't mean, however, that $1 in the collection plate every Sunday is "giving." It is all up to the discretion of each individual. If you trust in Jesus Christ and believe Him with all your heart and soul, He will love you unconditionally...that is the beauty of it all.

Well- actually according to something I read sometime (do not remember what... this was back in sunday school)... you do not have to pray in a church to pray to god. You can pray anywhere amoung nature... and in fact he would prefer that. The church just will not admit that to you ever. I used to believe as long as I forgave everyone and helped anyone I could... (And prayed at night)... that everything would be okay... Seeing how often I get screwed over by all that though, I have no clue what good that has ever done me nor what it still does. God makes the balance of good and evil... and that's why we have good and evil humans to keep that balance. God is good, the Devil is bad... and humans are the inbetweeners that keep this balance. But remember without Good you cannot be bad... without Bad you cannot be good... therefore, god must be both. And the devil once was good, turned bad. Remember that. You will never be fully good... you will just be the balance inbetween and hopefully you are more good than bad... whether or not you choose to believe... your soul will go whichever way your life did.

No, Your not good to go. For one you're not even sincere in your statement. God looks at the heart of man especially a contrite heart. You must confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. Turn from your sinful lifestyle. Paying your tithes to church is only for the kingdom of God and it's not just to help the church. Once again,It's all about a the heart of a man. Your tithes are voided when you are not sincere in your giving. Everything that you have belongs to God such as your time in helping others, 10% of your income and personal time with God! If you don't believe in God,sin, and his goodness then this question is useless when you not convince in the first place. Sad for you!

Very quaint.

"If I choose to believe in 'God'.."

With that sentence you already proved that you have accepted that he does in fact exist. Your just concerned about whether or not to believe in him? If you have gone far enough to accept that he does exist, than you have already also accepted that you believe in him.

When it comes to choice and deciding between, there has to be at least two factors, or else theres no choice to be made. Your "dilemma" (Althought as i've already stated you don't have a dilemma because you already do believe in "god") is wether or not you will allow yourself to acknowledge the fact that you believe in god. So the other side of this would be to allow yourself to believe in the fact that you do not want to acknowledge that you believe in god. Which would throw yourself into denial.

If you don't believe in sin, but you feel pressured to believing that jesus died for your sins and you think you have to believe good is good even though you already think its evil, then you're obviously pushing yourself into something you're not comfortable with.

I'm not a christian and I don't believe in any of that which you say that a christian has to believe in or has to do, but i am true to myself. And from your question, should you convert to a religion where you don't believe in anything it teaches, you will not be true to yourself.

"Is the key to conversion choosing to believe?"

If you know there is a choice, then you already believe. The key to conversion is acknowledgement, acceptance and faith.

You can find out more about the faith you would like to convert to, by finding out more about yourself.

Now tell me is that an actual choice or a secluded mind exploding in compassionate action to compensate time in its delusions of trauma for the idea or justice of your existance. Did you ever got the idea get by not choose every thing going in head and life? you will not attempt to think of these yet you will, it has been foreseen, I assure you young pupil.

It is my prayer that God will give you the knowledge of the Truth of who HE is and what Jesus sacrifice means for your eternal well being.

Actually the key to conversion is the "choice". It is entirely your "choice" to believe in what you want to believe. I can tell you what I beleive, but, that may or may not have any influence on what "choice" you make.
