A best and cheap DSLR? Those two don't go together all that well. If you want the best you are going to have to pay for it.

One thing people need to know is you don't get something by investing nothing into it. Getting into photography (especially with a DSLR) is going to be pricey. You are looking at $3000 for the body, $600 for the lenses, $300 for a good flash and whatever you want to put in for training.

Don't be cheap here. If you want, start off with a film SLR and then work your way into photography.

Look for old used cameras at yard sales. 30 year old manual focus SLRs are just as good as newer cameras if you keep everything clean. Plus since they are completely manual it forces you to learn about aperature settings, shutter speeds, and everything else.

SLR and digital are completely different things.

You can have an SLR electronic camera, a manual SLR, or a digital camera.
