You will need to go to archives for the county medical examiner or the local newspapers. I would call the probate judges office for the county. I think that is the judge that deals with birth, marriage, and death certificates and you can find out the exact date and cause of the death. If it was a murder, the police departments homicide division should be able to tell you details.
