NO!....you should always check with your doctor or pharmacy before you take anything when your breast feeding. Whatever you put into your body is secreted into the milk you make.

A lactating mother should NEVER take diet pills or weight loss pills. Firstly chemicals do pass from the mother to the infant, and babies most certainly don't need these sorts of things in their system. Nor do we know completely the effects that such medications might have on developing brains and bodies.
But a lactating mother NEEDS enough calories to supply the needs of both herself and her baby, especially as the baby gets a little older. You can avoid over-eating, cut out the chocolates and cookies if you want, and substitute fresh fruit and veggies if you need munchies, but you definitely should not take either diet pills or weight loss pills while you are nursing a child. When your baby is no longer breast feeding, you can think about weight loss by revamping your diet, and exercise to go with it. Diet pills and weight loss pills aren't really good for anyone.

I agree with the other answers. One thing no one has mentioned yet is that breastfeeding increases your metabolism so you should notice weight loss anyway. Keep your calories around 1400 per day and it will be like you did aerobics everday for a half hour.

NO! This chemicals/herbs in it will be transferred through the brreast milk and can affect the child. If it effects the child then the child could become underweight or develop a growth problem!

NO... anything you ingest is passed on to your baby. Exercise caution in using over the counter anything... particularly something like diet pills which would be harmful.

I would think the drug would be passed through your breast milk. Warnings should be on the meds you are thinking of taking. Ask your Dr. before you take anything while you are nursing.

No because anything that you take can pass through to your baby through your breast milk.
