Do you or your religion of choice (please say which one you subscribe to) allow for humor in your religion? Personally, I'm Jewish & I love humor! I have no problems with viewing G-d with humor, since Psalm 2:4 says G-d sits in the heavens & laughs.

I am Southern Baptist and I believe that God is the great comedian. Just look at some of the stories in the Bible they are just hilarious. Look at the brat Joseph (Remember the coat of many colors and him flaunting it to his brothers) then he gets thrown into the well, but in the end winds up having to judge is brother and to learn not to be such a brat. God loves humor. Where crying is the cleansing of the soul, humor is the dry cleaning of the soul!!!!!

I'm a christian mystic and the living room of my spiritual Home is always filled with laughter and warmth. My Lord has a wit and sense of humor that keeps me in stitches most all the time. It is the Joy that fills my heart and the knowledge that someday we'll be able to smile about EVERYTHING.

I'm Christian and I know God has a sense of humor. He loves to smile and laugh, I'm sure of it. So there is definitely a place for humor in my faith.

I think Catholics have a problem with humor as it compares to spirituality.

I think some Catholic person years ago said that "Jesus never laughed" and that laughter is outside of being a godly trait??

Any catholics can address this??

****
John Chrysostom a monk had something to say about this..

Very Good! Have you read Psalm 22 ? God has a very good sense of humor. He made strange animals. Giraffes, hippo's and weasels. He made us! Isaiah 6:3 says He is also Holy,Holy,Holy!!! Baptist.

I'm Catholic and my faith encourages humor. One of my favorite sayings is "God must have a sense of humor, look at the duck billed platypus!"

I don't have a problem with humor, as long as it don't get blasphemous.

I am of the Church of God faith.
